Thursday, April 11

7:04 p.m. A woman reported a theft from her vehicle where a handmade black and white Boho style purse and two sets of AirPods were taken from her unlocked vehicle at Longs Trailer Park, 1016 E. Main St.

9:05 p.m. An officer took a report for a theft that happened at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.

Friday, April 12

6:30 a.m. An officer observed a man with a sleeping bag and red cooler on the corner at the City Market Fuel Center, 506 E. Main St., pacing back and forth. The officer discovered through dispatch that the man had two warrants out of Mesa County, arrested him and took him to the Montezuma County Detention Center.

6:48 a.m. An officer took a report for evidence of a car crash and property damage at Chronic Therapy, 1020 S. Broadway. The crash involved the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado State Patrol as the man reporting the crash could not remember where he had run over a traffic sign. He stated he had been driving from Dallas to Salt Lake City and had only gotten four hours of sleep and realized 20 miles from the scene of the crash that he should report it. The damages from the crash were numerous traffic signs, a mailbox, debris from a vehicle, and a billboard sign for Fast Eddies. Officers confirmed the man was simply sleep deprived. The man was cited with careless driving, leaving the scene of an crash and failing to notify police of an crash after a deputy from the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office located the man and his vehicle in the 26000 block of U.S. 491.

4:39 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of two second-degree assaults for spitting on three nurses providing a CT scan to him at the Southwest Memorial Hospital, 1311 N. Mildred Road.

8:08 p.m. An officer responding to a report of a suspicious person at the corner of Park and Montezuma in the 200 block of North Park Street arrested a man he witnessed kick another man in the face after pushing him to the ground. The man was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault and the violation of a protection order that states he shall not possess or consume alcohol.

Saturday, April 13

9:46 a.m. An officer cited a man for trespassing and a never-expiring trespass notice from Mesa Verde Motor Sports, 2120 S. Broadway.

3:15 p.m. A woman was cited with trespassing at the Cortez Plaza, 2200 E. Main St. She stated “she was only trespassing a little, and she was just trespassing to get a bottle from the liquor store.”

6:45 p.m. An officer took a report for a cold theft from a woman at the Sleeping Ute Apartments, 516 S. Madison St.

7:10 p.m. An officer arrested a man on a warrant at the Centennial Park Duck Pond, 515 N. Mildred Road who matched the description of a suspect who was seen pulling his pants down and fully exposing his butt.

Sunday, April 14

10:14 a.m. An officer served warrants to two men who were being taken to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

1:34 p.m. An officer took a report for a stolen 4X8 trailer from 503 N. Henry St.

4:25 p.m. An officer took over jurisdiction from a Montezuma County Sheriff’s deputy after a tip that a suspect was weaving on and off the highway, nearly colliding with mailboxes, and almost hitting car dealership vehicles. A married couple followed the man from Yellow Jacket to the Chevron Gas Station, 717 S. Broadway, where the man and his wife intervened. The husband reported he took the driver’s keys from the man while waiting for law enforcement to arrive. Officers observed alcohol containers strewed inside the man’s vehicle, visual signs of intoxication as he failed roadside maneuvers. He was arrested man on suspicion of DUI, failing to drive in a single lane, possessing an open alcohol container and driving a vehicle with a blood content of 0.08 or more. He signed a Notice of Revocation and the Colorado Express Consent Affidavit and was booked at the Montezuma County Detention Center.

6:48 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of careless driving, DUI, DUI Per Se at the Speedway station at 921 E. Main St.

Monday, April 15

5:17 a.m. A woman was arrested on a warrant at the Southwest Memorial Hospital, 1311 N. Mildred Road.

10:31 a.m. A woman was arrested for violating a protection order at 1417 Navajo St.

4:37 p.m. A man was cited with shoplifting after allegedly taking six doughnuts and violating a trespass order at City Market, 508 E. Main St. The woman he was with was also issued a non-expiring trespass order.

9:23 p.m. A man turning himself into the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was arrested and booked on a warrant.

Tuesday, April 16

8:43 a.m. A man being transferred from another agency into the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., was served, arrested and booked on two warrants.

11:51 a.m. An officer served a felony warrant to a man in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

2:25 p.m. An officer took a report from a resident at 1609 E. Downey Ave. for a violation of a trespass protection order. The officer requested a warrant for the arrest of the suspect as he was recorded on surveillance security footage walking across the corner of the lawn of his neighbors protected property.

5:32 p.m. An officer responding to a report of a welfare check arrested the man matching the callers description on a warrant at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St. According to the officers report the man was highly intoxicated and results of the Breathalyzer yielded a blood alcohol content of 0.304g/210L.

9:35 p.m. A man was cited with violating a trespass order for sleeping outside of the First National Bank, 2258 E. Main St. The officers report states that the man stated his family owns the bank and he could sleep there.

Wednesday, April 17

9:41 p.m. A man was cited with trespassing at McDonald’s Restaurant, 1322 E. Main St.
