Thursday, Jan. 25

2:06 a.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, failure to provide proof of insurance, expired number plates, possession of open marijuana container in vehicle, possession of open alcohol container in motor vehicle, and driving motor vehicle on wrong side of divided highway in the 800 block of S. Broadway.

7:21 a.m. A woman reported her cat-printed purse was stolen the previous week from her car in the hospital parking lot, at 1311 N. Mildred Road.

1:58 p.m. A man turned himself over to the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., on two warrants.

4 p.m. A woman who was trespassed from City Market earlier in the day was seen dancing next to the fuel pumps and arrested on suspicion of violating a trespass order. She was arrested in front of the Front Row Seat, 610 E. Main St.

6:09 p.m. An officer took a report of theft in the 700 block of Stratton Drive.

6:45 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant at City Market, 508 E. Main St.

8:28 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant in the 1600 block of Taylor St.

11:09 p.m. An officer responded to a disturbance in the 500 block of E. Fourth St. A man was arrested and cited with violating a no contact/no exceptions protection order and domestic violence after escaping his residence through a back bedroom window. A woman was arrested and cited with violating a no contact/no exceptions protection order, a third-degree assault, second-degree assault on a peace officer, and criminal mischief.

Friday, Jan. 26

7:08 a.m. An officer took a report for damaged property at Four States Tire, 41 N. Edith St.

2:25 p.m. Officers took a report of an assault at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St. A man that was in the area was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order that states he shall not possess or consume alcohol when being questioned by an officer an open can of Budweiser fell out of his jacket, spilling foamy beer onto the grass.

6:30 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of violating a no contact/ no exceptions protection order in the 1600 block of E. Empire St.

7:41 p.m. A man was cited with theft and trespassed from Liquid Assets Liquor Store, 718 E. Main St.

11:34 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of violating a trespass order at City Market, 508 E. Main St.

Saturday, Jan. 27

3:21 p.m. Two women were cited with theft at the Hampton Inn, 2244 Hawkins St., for nonpayment of the two extra nights that they stayed in the hotel.

3:59 p.m. An officer took a report for theft at Big R, 1319 E. Main St.

6:06 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of violating a trespass order at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.

Sunday, Jan. 28

1:42 a.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se, and driving under restraint (suspended) and weaving at the Chevron Gas Station, 717 S. Broadway.

6:08 a.m. An officer took a report for a stolen vehicle that was damaged and parked in the City Market parking lot, 508 E. Main St.

1:02 p.m. A woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se, careless driving and failure to report an accident to police in the 1100 block of Cochita Drive.

8:04 p.m. A man who was reportedly found highly intoxicated and unconscious in the bathroom of Safeway, 1580 E. Main St., was arrested on suspicion of violating a trespass order.

Monday, Jan. 29

3:33 p.m. An officer assisted in taking a man with a warrant into custody from a Montezuma County sheriff’s deputy who made a routine traffic stop and discovered the man had an active warrant for his arrest at Crystal Brite Laundry, 126 Pinion Drive.

8:51 p.m. A woman reported her car stolen in the 300 block of S. Harrison St.

Tuesday, Jan. 30

12:29 a.m. A man was arrested on a warrant at Liquid Assets Liquor Store, 718 E. Main St.

3:21 p.m. An officer took a report for larceny from a vehicle and damaged property where a man’s driver-side window was broken and two pairs of sunglasses he bought for $25 were taken, in the Geer Natural Area, 25502 Road L.

5:47 p.m. An officer took a report of fraud and identity theft from a caller at the Cortez Police Department, 608 N. Park St.

6:07 p.m. A woman was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order in the 1400 block of Navajo St.

8:17 p.m. A man wearing shorts who was reportedly harassing customers was arrested on a warrant at Liquid Assets Liquor Store, 718 E. Main St.

9:18 p.m. A man who was reported to have been seen unconscious outside Auto Zone was located for a welfare check, when identified he was arrested on suspicion of violating an alcohol protection order that states he shall not possess or consume alcohol at McDonald’s, 1322 E. Main St.

Wednesday, Jan. 31

10:46 a.m. A man at the Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., was remanded into custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St. on a warrant.

11:01 a.m. An officer took a report for theft at Big R, 1319 E. Main St.

12:29 p.m. An officer took a report for theft from a suspect who was described as driving a white car with Arizona plates with a black tarp for a back window at Family Dollar, 324 S. Broadway.

3:12 p.m. An officer took a report for a counterfeit bill that was used at LivWell, 1819 E. Main St.

7:14 p.m. An officer took a report for an animal problem at the Aneth Lodge, 645 E. Main St. The suspected neglected dog was reported to have been barking for hours, the officer removed it from a feces covered crate and took it to the animal shelter, and the owner was later contacted and given instructions to work on arrangements with the shelter on getting her dog back.

10:02 p.m. A woman was arrested for violating a trespassing order at 405 W. Seventh St., Oak Meadows Trailer Park.
