Thursday, Jan. 11

3:41 p.m. A man was cited with shoplifting for a pair of Ariat boots when witnesses reported seeing a man with a price tag hanging out of his jacket at Big R, 1319 E. Main St.

Friday, Jan. 12

8:06 a.m. An officer took two reports of larceny from a vehicle in the 100 block of Second St. In one incident, a set of truck keys were reportedly taken; in the other, a wallet and pistol were reported missing.

10:49 p.m. A man was cited with unlawful carrying of a weapon in the 500 block of W. Fourth St.

Saturday, Jan. 13

2:41 p.m. A woman who had been banned from Walmart for allegedly making bomb threats, was arrested on suspicion of trespassing at the store, 1835 E. Main St.

4:42 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault when witnesses reported seeing a man beating on another man at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St.

6:55 p.m. A woman was cited with shoplifting and arrested on a warrant at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.

7:20 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of driving a defective vehicle, possessing an open marijuana container in a motor vehicle, failing to present proof of insurance, driving with a revoked license, and DUID in the 200 block of W. Main St.

10:18 p.m. A man was cited with failing to provide proof of insurance and displaying expired number plates in the 200 block of N. Elm St.

Sunday, Jan. 14

1:19 a.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of trespassing at the Maverick, 455 N. State St.

12:45 p.m. A man was served with a felony hold slip for second-degree assault, theft and obstructing a peace officer. The man was seen on surveillance video taking a 12-pack of Modelo and two bags of chips from City Market, 508 E. Main St. The man was arrested at the intersection of Roger Smith and Montezuma avenues.

2:46 p.m. A woman was arrested on suspicion of harassment and resisting arrest after officers responded to a report of an unwanted person at Southwest Health, 1311 N. Mildred Road.

9:44 p.m. An officer arrested a man on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs or both, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving and driving a vehicle without a license. He also was served a Colorado Department of Revenue Express Consent Affidavit and a Notice of Revocation after admitting to driving recklessly by attempting to drive a doughnut in the parking lot of Mesa Elementary, 703 W. Seventh St. while being intoxicated and “stoned,” according to a police report.

11:23 p.m. A man who was reporting an unwanted person at the Handymart, 806 S. Broadway that had just left the premises, was arrested on a warrant.

Monday, Jan. 15

9:09 a.m. An officer cited a man with trespassing at Speedway, 921 E. Main St.

1:14 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant in the 400 block of N. Texas St.

2:58 p.m. A man was cited with disturbing the peace at Piñon Project, 210 E. Main St.

Tuesday, Jan. 16

12:29 a.m. An officer served a warrant to a man in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

1:10 p.m. An officer took a report of larceny at the Mesa Verde Inn, 640 S. Broadway, for missing copper piping from all the rooms on the property, a grill and a refrigerator.

7:02 p.m. Police officers arrested two men on warrants after a report was made that a firearm had possibly fallen out of a vehicle being pushed in the 10 block of N. Edith St. The vehicle and men were located at 13220 E. Main St. after being identified, dispatch notified officers of the men’s active warrants.

Wednesday, Jan. 17

11:29 a.m. A woman was cited and arrested under suspicion of DUI and open container, and was served an express consent affidavit at 300 E. Main St.

12:11 p.m. An officer took a report for property damage to a vehicle in the 500 block of N. Elm St.

12:53 p.m. An officer served a warrant to a man in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

1:07 p.m. An officer took a report for harassment by electronic communication via telephone at the Cortez Police Department, 608 N. Park St.

2:34 p.m. A woman was cited with shoplifting after witnesses reported seeing a woman taking four pairs of jeans without paying from Big R, 1319 E. Main St.

4:27 p.m. An officer took a report from a man for larceny from his vehicle where a bag containing his wallet was stolen at Southwest Health, 1311 N. Mildred Road.

4:30 p.m. An officer took a report for a traffic collision at 500 E. Montezuma Ave., a woman involved in the crash was cited with driving an uninsured motor vehicle.

4:46 p.m. An officer served a warrant to a man in the custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

8:17 p.m. An officer took a report for property damage and a hit-and-run at 617 S. Cedar St.

12:08 a.m. An officer cited a man with shoplifting at the Maverick Country Store, 455 N. State St.
