Thursday, July 6

11:18 a.m. A woman in the 1400 block of North Mildred Road noticed her vehicle’s windshield had a hole in it. The vehicle was damaged sometime after 10 p.m. the night before.

5:20 p.m. A man was arrested on a warrant and on suspicion of possessing an open container, possessing alcohol in a park and indecent exposure after he allegedly urinated in at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St.

7:06 p.m. An officer tried to catch a dog running loose near the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St. The dog’s owner caught the dog and was cited with letting a dog run at large.

8:34 p.m. A fence in the alley of man’s property in the lower 100 block of North Madison was hit by a vehicle.

Friday, July 7

11:08 a.m. A man in the shed behind an unoccupied home in the 600 block of South Oak Street was arrested on suspicion of possession of meth, fentanyl and drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence, and trespassing.

3:02 p.m. An officer served five warrants to a woman in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

3:21 p.m. A man in the City Market parking lot, 508 E. Main St., yelled at a woman parked next to him and used his car door to hit the side of her vehicle repeatedly. He drove away, was seen driving North on North Harrison streets and allegedly ran a stop sign while turning west on to Montezuma Avenue. He was pulled over in the 200 block of East Montezuma Avenue and arrested on a warrant and on suspicion of DUI, driving with a revoked license, reckless driving, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, possessing an open container of cannabis and alcohol, disorderly conduct and failure to provide insurance.

4:17 p.m. A man at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., was cited with trespassing.

Saturday, July 8

1:27 p.m. A man driving in the 500 block of North Broadway performed a burnout when an officer drove past him. He was pulled over in the 300 block of Main Street and arrested on suspicion of DUI and reckless driving.

5:10 p.m. A man in near City Pool, 803 E. Montezuma Ave. was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order.

9:07 p.m. A man at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., allegedly took a socket set and a pair of gloves without paying. He was cited with shoplifting.

Monday, July 10

9:30 a.m. The owner of Lotsa Pasta, 439 E. Main St. noticed 30 fence panels had gone missing between 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Monday.

2:34 p.m. A red vehicle in the Cortez Municipal Airport parking lot, 22870 Road F, was towed after sitting there for more than two years.

3:03 p.m. A man and woman at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St., were cited with possessing an open container and possessing alcohol in a park. The man was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order. About 4:21 p.m., the woman returned to the park and was cited with trespassing. She returned to the park again about 7:30 p.m., and an officer reported that she punched a man in the head multiple times. She allegedly kicked the officer in the chest during her arrest, then hit an officer in the face and kicked another officer in the chest at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St. She was cited with three charges of second-degree assault, one third-degree assault and one third-degree trespassing.

11:23 p.m. A man driving east in the 2200 block of East Main Street was going in and out of turn lanes. The man was pulled over in the 2800 block of East Main Street and arrested on suspicion of DUI, failing to drive in a single lane and driving a vehicle without insurance.

Tuesday, July 11

9:22 a.m. A man took a bicycle and baseball bat from a yard in the 800 block of Brookside Drive. The man was arrested at Centennial Park, 802 E. Montezuma Ave., on suspicion of theft.

2:02 p.m. A woman left Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., without paying for items she had stored in her backpack. The woman was cited with shoplifting.

3:56 p.m. A woman at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St., was cited with trespassing.

3:36 p.m. A woman working the fuel center at City Market, 508 E. Main St., allegedly took $1,100 over two days. The woman stated she needed the money for bills and signed a note to pay the money back. She was cited with theft.

4:30 p.m. A man outside the Davita Dialysis Center, 610 E. Main St., was cited with trespassing.

Wednesday, July 12

2:28 p.m. A woman at the Montezuma County Combined Court, 865 N. Park St., was arrested on a warrant.

9:37 p.m. A man at Tomahawk Motel, 728 S. Broadway, was arrested on a warrant and cited with resisting arrest and violating a restraining order.
