Thursday, March 23

12:23 p.m., A man in the 200 block of South Park Street was arrested on a warrant.

1:35 p.m., A man in the parking lot of City Market, 508 E. Main St., was arrested on a warrant.

2:41 p.m., An officer served two warrants to a woman in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Friday, March 24

3:30 p.m., A woman at City Market, 508 E. Main St., noticed her wallet was missing when she went to check out. The woman believe it was taken from her purse while she was shopping.

Saturday, March 25

2:05 p.m., Two men at Cortez High School, 418 S Silgo St., were cited with disturbing the peace. Dogs belonging to the men had become aggressive, and the men got into a fight.

Sunday, March 26

12:59 a.m., A woman was pulled over in the 100 block of North Broadway for not having functioning taillights. The woman was cited with driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and driving without taillights.

8:31 a.m., A woman found a bicycle in her front yard in the 200 block of North Elm Street. The bike was taken into evidence, but the serial number did not indicate it was stolen.

12:52 p.m., A woman found a bicycle in the roadway near the intersection of South Maple and West Second Street. The bike was taken into evidence but the serial number did not indicate it was stolen.

8:14 p.m., A traffic stop in the 2200 block of East Main Street resulted in three arrests. The car driven by the man swerving and had plates that belonged to a different car. A woman ran from the car to a nearby Jeep that another woman was driving. The man was arrested on suspicion of traffic offenses, and both women were arrested on warrants. The woman who ran cited with obstruction. The woman driving the Jeep was cited with obstruction and resisting arrest.

Monday, March 27

1:15 a.m., An officer served three warrants to a man in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

12:17 p.m., A woman who drove her car into the corner of the Taco Bell building, 1300 E Main St., was cited with careless driving.

2:07 p.m., A man waiting for a shuttle in the City Market parking lot, 508 E. Main St., was cited with trespassing.

4 p.m., A woman noticed her car, which was parked in the lower 100 block of West Main Street, had a big scrape on it that was not there before.

10:41 p.m., A woman who was known not to have a driver’s license was pulled over in the 500 block of West Seventh Street and cited with driving without insurance and driving with a revoked license.

Tuesday, March 28

11:01 a.m., Three solar panels that had been attached to water-usage monitoring devices were stolen from the 2100 block of Tucker Lane. Each panel is estimated to cost $175.

11:22 a.m., A man who was told to stand by an officers vehicle ran into City Market, 508 E. Main St. The man was tackled, and his arms forced behind him by an officer using a expandable baton. The man was arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace and resisting arrest.

7:58 p.m., An officer served a woman a warrant for failure to comply and four warrants for failure to appear while she was in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

10:24 p.m., A dumpster fire in the 900 block of South Broadway was put out by the Cortez Fire Protection District. It could not be determined how the fire started.

11:53 p.m., A man in the 400 block of East Main Street was arrested on a warrant.

Wednesday, March 29

3:09 p.m., A man was falsely accused of stealing by an employee at Conoco, 302 W. Main St., and was demanded to leave. The man was attempting to leave when the employee grabbed the man by the throat and pushed him out of the store. The employee was cited with third-degree assault.
