Thursday, March 2

4:30 p.m. A woman was issued a municipal penalty assessment for unsafe backing. The woman was backing out of a parking spot in the Safeway parking lot, 1580 E. Main St., when her side mirror scratched a trucker parked next to her.

Friday, March 3

11:46 a.m. A man was cited with trespassing. The man allegedly went into a fenced backyard in the 1500 block of East MacArthur Avenue of a residence that was not his.

12:31 p.m. A woman was cited with careless driving that caused bodily injury and with leaving the scene of an accident. The woman was backing out of a parking spot at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., when she allegedly hit a woman in the hip before driving off.

7:32 p.m. A woman at Walmart, 1835 E Main St., was arrested on a warrant.

8:56 p.m. A man driving a truck hit a the back of a car in the lower 100 block of East Main Street. The man was cited with careless driving, and the woman whose car got hit was issued a parking violation for parking to far from the curb.

Saturday, March 4

1:01 a.m. A man at the Southwest Memorial Hospital, 1311 N. Mildred Road, was arrested on a warrant.

9:44 a.m. A woman was issued a penalty assessment for careless driving after hitting a parked car after turning from Elm Street onto First Street.

11:45 a.m. A woman was cited with unsafe backing after hitting a parked car in the West Slope Liquors parking lot, 2212 E. Main St.

1:19 p.m. A woman turned herself over to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., on a warrant.

7:04 p.m. A man at Oak Meadows Trailer Park, 400 W. Seventh St., was arrested on a warrant.

7:55 p.m. A man at Sleeping Ute Apartments, 516 S. Madison St., was arrested on a warrant.

9:12 p.m. A man was arrested in the 1300 block of East Main Street and was cited with DUI, failure to provide insurance, driving a defective vehicle and having an open container in a motor vehicle. The man was pulled over in for missing a headlight.

10:47 p.m. A man was arrested in the 300 block of North Broadway and cited with DUI, driving without a seat belt, failing to provide insurance and careless driving. The man was pulled over after allegedly driving on the wrong side of the road.

11:32 p.m. A man was arrested at Handy Mart, 806 South Broadway, and cited with criminal possession of a financial device, theft, disorderly conduct and obstructing a police officer. The man had been trespassed from Handy Mart and allegedly harassed customers and stole an bottle of medicine. Two debits card that did not belong to the man were found on his person.

Sunday, March 5

9:18 a.m. A man who hit a car at the Walmart parking lot, 1835 E. Main St., drove off and was arrested at Maverik, 455 N. Dolores Road. The man was cited with DUI.

12:04 p.m. A truck in the 1400 block of East Main Street was marked with painted graffiti.

Monday, March 6

11:27 a.m. A woman in the 1200 block of East Main Street was arrested on a warrant.

12:32 p.m. A woman in the 300 block of North Dolores Road was arrested on a warrant.

1:03 p.m. A woman who refused to leave the Super 8, 505 E. Main St., was arrested on two warrants.

1:19 p.m. A man at Hibbett Sports, 215 S. Silgo St., was arrested on three warrants. Items from Game Stop, 215 S. Silgo St., were found on his person, and he was cited with suspicion of shoplifting.

3:32 p.m. A woman sent two cashier checks totaling in $25,000 to a man pretending to be an employee of Publishers Clearing House. The man stated he needed the money to be able to send her a monetary prize. The checks were successfully redirected by an officer to a FedEx office instead of their original destination.

5:09 p.m. A man at Centennial Park, 800 E Montezuma Ave., was arrested on a warrant.

6:10 p.m. A man at Veterans Park, 830 E. Main St., was arrested on three warrant.

Tuesday, March 7

1:37 a.m. A man in the 300 block of West Main Street was hit on the head and knocked to the ground by another man. Two other men allegedly came out and took $140 from him and left. The man who knocked the man down was identified and a warrant is being sought for his arrest.

7:07 a.m. A man at the DaVita Dialysis Center, 610 E. Main St., was cited with trespassing.

10:41 a.m. A woman in the 1200 block of Melrose Avenue was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

3:48 p.m. A man in the 2100 block of South Broadway was arrested on a warrant is being investigated on suspicion of theft. Tools had gone missing from his work and shortly after the man had made a post on Facebook selling tools that appeared to be the same.

10:07 p.m. An officer observed a man and a woman trying to smoke something in an RV in the Walmart parking lot, 1835 E. Main St. The woman was arrested on a warrant. Pills believed to be fentanyl were found on the man and were confiscated.

Wednesday, March 8

12:35 p.m. A man in the 400 block of South Valley Road was arrested on three warrants.

2:21 p.m. A man walking in the 1900 block of East Main Street was arrested on two warrants.

6:12 p.m. Two men at the Bridge Emergency Shelter, 735 N Park St., were arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace. The two men had got into a physical fight in the parking lot.

The Journal
