Thursday, Jan. 19

8:52 a.m., A woman at the Mesa Park Apartments, 880 S. Chestnut St., was bitten by a dog on a leash held by a woman on the phone. The woman reported the dog’s owner lived in the complex, and the dog’s description was given to property manager to identify.

9:44 a.m., A man driving a through the parking lot at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., tried to talk to a woman walking to her car. The woman told court security she has a protection order preventing the man from being within 100 yards of her, and he was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order.

12:09 p.m., A woman driving in the lower 100 block of East Main Street slid into a parked car at 33 E. Main St. after braking to avoid a truck that swerved in front of her. The investigating officer noted previous problems on that section of Main Street and requested sand and a snowplow. The woman was assessed a municipal penalty for careless driving.

2:49 p.m., An officer served a warrant to a man in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

3 p.m., A man who had been indefinitely trespassed from City Market, 508 E. Main St., was reported to have been in the store. He was cited for trespassing but refused to sign or take the summons, stating he would not go to court. At 4:05 p.m., the man was reported on the property and refusing to leave. He was arrested on suspicion of trespassing.

Friday, Jan. 20

2:30 p.m. A woman allegedly stole alcohol and food from Safeway, 1580 E. Main St. The woman later called the store manager and stated she had returned the alcohol and police could find her in the 900 block of North Mildred Road. An officer arrived, and the woman admitted to the theft and helped collect the food to return to the store. She apologized to the store manager and was arrested on a warrant and on suspicion of underage possession of alcohol and theft.

10:42 p.m. A driver was arrested on a warrant in the 8000 block of Road 25 after he was pulled over because his truck was sparking.

Saturday, Jan. 21

12:54 p.m., An employee at Taco Bell, 1300 E. Main St., reported an intoxicated man went through the drive-thru and parked in the parking lot. When approached by officers, he stated he was drunk, and he was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and possessing an open container.

3:35 p.m. Two men appeared to be ready to fight in the parking lot of City Market, 508 E. Main St. An officer approached, and one man ran toward Front Row Seat, 610 E. Main St. An officer drove that direction to head him off. The man doubled back, and two officers boxed the man. He was arrested on suspicion of trespassing and violating a protection order that prevents him from possessing or consuming alcohol.

5:58 p.m., A man at the Sleeping Ute Apartments, 516 S. Madison St., reportedly punched through the window of his sister’s unit and threatened her. Officers arrived and found that his arm was bleeding. He admitted to drinking and was taken to the hospital. The man was arrested on suspicion of menacing and violating a protection order that prevents him from possessing or drinking alcohol.

6:18 p.m., Management at Tomahawk Motel, 728 S. Broadway, requested that a woman be trespassed. She was arrested on a warrant but was not trespassed because she lived there.

Sunday Jan. 22

3:36 p.m., A man turned himself in at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., and was arrested on a warrant.

Monday, Jan. 23

12:27 p.m., A man shoveling snow in the 400 block of North Linden Street was arrested on a warrant.

Tuesday, Jan. 24

8:14 a.m., A man sleeping inside the Post Office, 35 S. Beech St., was cited on suspicion of trespassing.

8:36 a.m., During a shoplifting investigation at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., an officer arrested a man on a warrant in the parking lot.

9:30 a.m., During a shoplifting investigation at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., an officer noticed a woman in an RV and arrested her on a warrant.

3 p.m., An officer served two warrants to a man in custody of the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Wednesday, Jan. 25

6:43 a.m., A man who was being cited for trespassing at the Post Office, 35 Beech St., dropped a baggie with a white substance in it. The man was arrested, and the bag tested presumptive positive for meth.

8:30 a.m., An officer served a warrant to a man in custody at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

6:26 p.m., A woman at the Sleeping Ute Apartments, 516 S. Madison St., reported that a man who was restrained from contacting her was knocking at her door. The man was found near the intersection of South Madison Street and East Seventh Street. The man stated he had been drinking and was arrested on suspicion of violating a protection order.
