Thursday, Oct 27

12:24 p.m., The owner of the property at 610 E. Main St. requested that police indefinitely trespass anyone without written consent to be in or around her building. Four people were seen in the parking lot and appeared to be drinking alcohol. All were served indefinite trespass notices, and one woman was arrested for a warrant.

2:41 p.m., A woman at the Nation 9 Inn, 301 W. Main St., was bit by a Jack Russell dog named Bitty. She did not press charges, but police did issue an order confining the dog to the home.

2:37 p.m., A woman in the 400 block of West Main Street was issued summons for merging when unsafe. She merged back into traffic from a turn lane when she realized she was at the wrong turn and ran into another car.

4:41 p.m., A man in the 700 block of North Ash Street was issued summons on suspicion of careless driving after he drove into the back of a car.

5:19 p.m., A man at City Market, 508 E. Main St., was arrested on a warrant.

7:03 p.m., A Chevy Silverado ran a red light in the 1300 block of Main Street. As an officer activated the squad car’s emergency lights, the truck turned around in the opposite direction and turned down South Silgo Street. The officer followed as the truck driver reached speeds of 70 mph turning onto County Road J. The truck then turned on to County Road 27, then County Road H, then County Road 25, then County Road G. The truck ran over road spikes set up by Colorado State Patrol and blew out its driver side tires. The truck lost its rear rim and continued to evade officers. The pursuit was ended without stopping the truck.

11:34 p.m., An officer served two warrants to an inmate at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., two warrants.

Friday, Oct. 28

12:24 p.m., A man was arrested in 400 block of East Main Street on suspicion of shoplifting from Cork ’N’ Bottle, 433 E. Main St., and on suspicion of assault after he allegedly hit an officer.

1:11 p.m., A man was reported to have punched another man in the head in the 500 block of East Main Street.

7:35 p.m., A man was removed from a Super 8 Motel, 505 E. Main St., by the request of management. The other occupant of the room was arrested on two warrants.

Saturday, Oct. 29

10:02 a.m., A man in the 100 block of North Market Street was issued a summons on suspicion of possessing an open container of alcohol.

11:42 a.m., A man in the 700 block of South Broadway was arrested for a warrant.

12:48 p.m., A woman was issued summons for shoplifting from Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., after she walked out with a generator without paying.

1:19 p.m., A woman was arrested on suspicion of burglary and assault at the Oak Meadows Trailer Park, 405 W. Seventh St. She was reported to have broken a window that hit someone in the head and then threw rocks at that person.

7:25 p.m., A woman in the 500 block of West Main Street was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.

11:18 p.m., A woman at City Market, 508 E. Main St., was arrested for a warrant.

Sunday, Oct. 30

10:04 p.m., A man in the 100 block of North Adams Street was arrested for a warrant.

Monday, Oct. 31

2:17 a.m., A woman was cited on suspicion of speeding in the 200 block of East Main Street. Neither the driver nor the passenger had a valid drivers license, so the vehicle was towed.

11:36 a.m., A man turned himself into the Montezuma County Detention Center for a warrant.

1:20 p.m., A man reportedly ripped a flag off a mailbox at the Cortez Fire Protection District, 31 N. Washington St., the night before.

3:10 p.m., A report of five people involved in a fight in the 600 block of East Main Street resulted in the warranted arrests of a man and woman.

3:45 p.m., A man at Walmart was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting, violating a protection order, and for a warrant. He reportedly was taking shoes from Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.

Tuesday, Nov. 1

1:51 a.m., A man and a woman were arrested for warrants as they appeared to be searching a trash bin for food.

8:28 a.m., A woman in the 2000 block of Hermosa Street reported someone called her and persuaded her that a grandson had been arrested and needed cash for bail. She was told to send the money via mail between the pages of a magazine. She sent the money, but the post office had not yet delivered it.

12:09 p.m., A woman was arrested on a warrant in the 1300 block of North Mildred Road.

3:03 p.m., A man was arrested in the parking lot of the Maverik gas station, 455 N. State St., for a warrant.

6:37 p.m., A woman was arrested on suspicion of arson after she reportedly lit an Elmo doll on fire and threw it into the occupied driver’s seat of a van in the 1800 block of East Main Street.

9:38 p.m., A man was cited on suspicion of trespassing and possessing an open container at Ziggi’s, 1204 E. Main St.

10:57 p.m., A man was cited on suspicion of trespassing at the Speedway gas station, 2021 E. Main St.

Wednesday, Nov. 2

1:36 a.m., A woman reported her son and nephew were drunk and arguing in Happy Valley Trailer Park, 203 E. Seventh St. Her son was arrested for violating a protection order that barred him from drinking or possessing alcohol.

8:04 p.m., A woman turned herself at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., for a warrant.

10:23 a.m., A woman was arrested in the 400 block of North Washington Street for a warrant.

12:09 p.m., A woman was arrested on a warrant in the 700 block of West Seventh Street.

12:59 p.m., A man was arrested on suspicion of assault in the 600 block of Main Street after he was found standing shirtless over a person who was known to be wheelchair user.

1:08 p.m., A woman at Montezuma County Combined Court, 865 N. Park St., was arrested on six warrants for failing to appear.

8:53 p.m., A man in the 100 block of North Adams Street was arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace after he was reportedly was fighting someone in the street.

9:40 p.m., A man in the parking lot of Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., was cited on suspicion of trespassing and disturbing the peace. He reportedly was pounding on a trailer and trying to kick someone.
