Thursday, Jan. 6

12:11 a.m. A woman reported that someone threw a rock through her window in the 200 block of South Park Street. There were no leads.

4:31 p.m. A man was taken into custody on outstanding warrants in the lower 100 block of West Third Street.

10:22 p.m. A man was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant after he was pulled over for speeding and failing to stop at a stop sign in the 700 block of South Chestnut Street.

Friday, Jan. 7

12:42 p.m. A man was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant after he turned himself in at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

1:14 p.m. A woman reported that she was assaulted by her neighbor’s son in the 200 block of South Market Street. No charges were pressed.

1:55 p.m. A man was taken into custody on outstanding warrants after he was reportedly involved in a verbal argument with his girlfriend in the 1100 block of East Main Street.

11:47 p.m. An intoxicated man was taken into custody after someone reported him for knocking on residents’ doors in the 200 block of East Seventh Street. The man was legally prohibited from drinking and was issued a summons for doing so.

Saturday, Jan. 8

1:54 a.m. A woman reported that someone crashed into her mother’s car and then fled the scene in the 800 block of South Chestnut Street. There were no leads.

8:36 a.m. A woman was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant in the 400 block of East Main Street after an officer observed her trespassing at City Market, 508 E. Main St. The woman was issued summons for trespassing and possessing drug paraphernalia.

11:48 a.m. An officer took possession of a bike after he found it abandoned in the lower 100 block of North Beech Street.

2:11 p.m. A man reported that someone broke into his car and messed with his transmission system, causing it to fail, in the 1500 block of East Main Street. There were no leads.

9:01 p.m. A man was issued a summons for criminal mischief and criminal trespass after he broke a window with a shovel at the Bridge Shelter, 735 N. Park St.

9:44 p.m. The man who was trespassed from the Bridge Shelter at 735 N. Park St. earlier Saturday night reportedly returned and attempted to fight a resident. He was taken into custody and issued summons for trespassing and disturbing the peace.

Sunday, Jan. 9

1:57 p.m. An employee reported that a customer used a fake $100 bill at the Livwell dispensary, 1819 E. Main St. The manager told the officer that he would have to get a warrant to access surveillance footage of the incident. There were no other leads.

9:26 p.m. Two women were issued summons for shoplifting after a store asset protection associate reportedly caught them stealing around $324 worth of merchandise at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St.

11:46 p.m. An employee at the Bridge Shelter at 735 N. Park St. reportedly turned over a bottle of prescription pills that belonged to a man who was in the Montezuma County Detention Center. The bottle was entered into evidence and destroyed.

Monday, Jan. 10

6:40 p.m. An intoxicated woman was taken into custody for violating the protection order which prohibits her from drinking after she was reported as an unwanted person at Southwest Pizza, 1430 E. Main St.

Sunday, Jan. 11

12:32 a.m. A car chase occurred after an officer observed a car registered to a wanted woman driving over the speed limit in the 800 block of South Broadway. Because the driver was driving recklessly, the officer discontinued the pursuit.

2:43 p.m. An intoxicated woman was taken into custody for violating a protection order that prohibited her from drinking after she was reported for stealing alcohol from the City Market, 508 E. Main St. She was also trespassed from the store.

Monday, Jan. 12

9:35 a.m. A woman reported that someone hit her parked vehicle in the 2300 block of East Empire Street. An officer identified the suspected driver as his license plate had stuck to the apparent victim’s vehicle. He was issued summons for the careless driving and leaving the scene without providing required information.

11:21 a.m. A woman was taken into custody on outstanding warrants in the 1800 block of East Main Street.

3:25 p.m. A woman was taken into custody on six outstanding warrants after she tried to retrieve her backpack which had been turned into the Cortez Police Department at 608 N. Park St. earlier that day.

6:17 p.m. A man was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant after he was involved in a car versus deer collision in the 500 block of South Madison Street.

8:18 p.m. A man was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant at the Montezuma County Jail, 730 E. Driscoll St.
