Thursday, Dec. 9

2:11 p.m. A woman pursued charges after she saw a man carrying her daughter’s stolen bike in the 600 block of North Mildred Road. The man was already in custody. A police officer issued him a summons for theft.

Friday, Dec. 10

8:38 a.m. A woman reported that her car was stolen in the lower 100 block of West Third Street. She suspected that two people staying with her may have stolen it. An officer entered the car as stolen. There were no other leads.

10:35 a.m. A resident reported that a man stole a package from his front yard in the 200 block of South Linden Street. There were no leads.

11:29 a.m. A man was issued a summons for shoplifting and banned from City Market, 508 E. Main St., after he went in to the store twice and stole a bag of chips.

3:22 p.m. A man was taken into custody for trespassing in the Walmart he was banned from at 1835 E. Main St. An officer contacted a caseworker to evaluate the man because he believed him to be experiencing mental issues.

Saturday, Dec. 11

1 a.m. An employee at the Speedway at 921 E. Main St. reported two men for shoplifting two cases of beer. An officer looked at security footage and did not recognize the men. There were no leads.

5:31 p.m. A rear-end car crash occurred in the 1300 block of East Main Street. The driver and passenger of the car that rear-ended the other were injured and taken to the hospital. That driver was issued a summons for careless driving resulting in bodily injury.

7:50 p.m. Two people were injured after their car collided with a deer in the 1000 block of South Broadway.

9:22 p.m. An injured man was reported for lying in someone’s driveway in the 800 block of South Broadway. The man resisted arrest and was violent towards police and emergency medical service members. He was taken to the hospital and issued a summons for obstructing a peace officer and resisting.

Sunday, Dec. 12

12:03 p.m. A woman reported that her license plate was stolen at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. An officer entered the plate as stolen.

9:21 p.m. A man was taken into custody and issued a summons for drinking and driving after an officer saw him on foot seeming very intoxicated, and another officer saw him getting into his car immediately after.

Monday, Dec. 13

12:30 p.m. A man was taken into custody on outstanding warrants in the 400 block of North Roger Smith Avenue.

5:38 p.m. A car collision occurred in the 300 block of E. Main St. when a man changed lanes and collided with a woman’s car. The man was issued a summons for changing lanes when unsafe.

5:49 p.m. A man was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant after an officer noticed him lying on the curb in the 800 block of East Montezuma Avenue. The officer was concerned about the man’s well-being and stated that she would forward a report to Adult Protective Services.

Tuesday, Dec. 14

11:17 a.m. A man was taken into custody on two outstanding warrants after he ran from an officer in the 400 block of East Main Street. He was served his warrants and issued a summons for obstructing a peace officer.

7:44 p.m. A man was taken into custody and issued a summons for drunk driving after he apparently drove over a curb and almost hit propane tanks at the Maverick store in the 10200 block of U.S. Highway 491.

8:24 p.m. A woman reported that her firearm was stolen out of her car in the 1600 block of Taylor Street. The woman could not provide the officer with a serial number, so the officer could not enter the firearm as stolen. There were no leads.

The Journal
