Wednesday, Nov. 24

5:52 p.m. A man was served a warrant at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

6:05 p.m. An intoxicated man was taken into custody after he was reported for shoplifting at the Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. The man had two outstanding warrants and three protection orders banning him from consuming alcohol.

7:30 p.m. A man reported that he hit a deer in the 1100 block of Lebanon Road. An officer euthanized the deer.

11:25 p.m. A man was pulled over in the 2100 block of Colorado Highway 145 on suspicion of weaving and going 20 mph under the speed limit. He was taken into custody and cited for DUI.

Friday, Nov. 26

1:34 a.m. An officer attempted to pull over a man on suspicion of failing to use a turn signal. The man eluded the officer until he pulled into a private lot with a dead end near the intersection of Seventh and South Oak streets. The man reached for his waistband as the officer approached, and other officers moved to detain him. The man had meth and heroin in his possession. He was cited for possessing meth and heroin, driving with a revoked license and failing to show current insurance and registration.

5:34 p.m. Vehicles collided in the lower 100 block of South Ash Street. One vehicle left the scene, and the officer could not tell who was at fault.

9:29 p.m. A rear-end car crash occurred in the 1900 block of East Main Street. The officer did not determine who was at fault.

Saturday, Nov. 27

12:40 p.m. A man was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant in the 600 block of East Main Street.

7:19 p.m. A woman was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant in the 300 block of South Washington Street.

7:56 p.m. A man who had entered the Speedway gas station, 921 E. Main St., was cited for trespassing because he had been banned from the store.

8:25 p.m. An intoxicated man was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant in the 600 block of East Main Street. The man had a protection order prohibiting him from drinking, so an officer issued him a new summons for that violation.

Sunday, Nov. 28

1:47 a.m. A man reported that a man shoplifted two cases of beer from the Speedway at 921 E. Main St. The same things were reportedly stolen a few weeks ago by a man with a matching description. An officer was going to look at security camera footage the following Monday.

2:50 p.m. A woman was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant after someone reported her to be involved in a domestic violence incident in the 2000 block of East Main Street.

6:11 p.m. A woman reported that a security officer at the City Market, 508 E. Main St., was harassing her. The woman was issued a summons for trespassing because she was banned from that store.

Monday, Nov. 29

12:55 p.m. A man was taken into custody on outstanding warrants in the 300 block of West Main Street.

3:55 p.m. A man reported that about $8,150 worth of stuff was stolen from his storage unit at the R&L U-STOR-IT, 530 N. State St. There were no leads.

Tuesday, Nov. 30

2:03 p.m. A woman reported a stolen firearm at the Cortez Police Department, 608 N. Park St. There were no leads.

7:26 a.m. A man was taken into custody for entering Safeway, 1530 E. Main Ave., because he had previously been trespassed from the store.

Wednesday, Dec. 1

8:58 a.m. A woman reported that a dog bit her in the 400 block of North Mildred Road. An officer was seeking to contact the dog owner based on the description the woman gave.

8:32 p.m. A man reportedly smashed the door glass at the Bridge Shelter, 735 N. Park St., after he was upset about how long it was taking for him to be admitted. An officer issued the man a summons for destroying private property and banned him indefinitely from the shelter.
