Thursday, Nov. 18

1:30 a.m. A man was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant in the 700 block of North Park Street.

Friday, Nov. 19

1:39 a.m. A man was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant in the lower 100 block of South Ash Street after his friends reported that he might have been having an overdose. The man repeatedly told officers that he was fine and was just trying to sleep.

8:01 a.m. A man reported that someone broke into his car and stole approximately $1,290 worth of items in the 2200 block of East Empire Street. There were no leads.

8:20 a.m. A man and woman were both served warrants at the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

10:52 a.m. A man was taken into custody on outstanding warrants in the 700 block of West Seventh Street.

11:47 a.m. A man was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant in the 400 block of East Seventh Street.

1:34 p.m. A man reportedly broke a glass door in the lower 100 block of North Beech Street after he accidentally locked himself out of a home where he was a guest. The man apparently promised the property owner that he would pay for the damage, but never did. The man was taken into custody on a previous warrant, and a new summons was issued for destruction of private property.

2:43 p.m. A woman was issued a summons for shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. after a theft prevention specialist observed her trying to leave the store with unpaid for items.

5:11 p.m. A man and a woman were reported for shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St. The woman fled. The theft retention specialist requested that the man be banned from the property. An officer discovered he was already banned, and issued him a summons for trespassing.

6:53 p.m. A theft retention specialist reported that a woman in Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., was banned from the store. She was issued a summons for trespassing.

Saturday, Nov. 20

1:57 a.m. A man was pulled over in the 1500 block of East Montezuma Avenue after an officer noticed that he was driving erratically and had expired registration. A breath test showed that he had been drinking. He was issued summons for driving with a revoked license, driving with expired registration and driving under the influence.

2:33 a.m. A man reported that someone broke into his vehicle and stole $50, 15 prescription pills, and a Carhart beanie. There were no leads.

6:55 a.m. A car was towed from the 300 block of South Maple Street because it blocked a driveway. Officers could not contact the owner and stated that he moved away from the area.

7:12 a.m. A man reported that his vehicle was stolen in the 1000 block of South Cedar Street. Officers found and returned it. No charges were pursued.

Sunday, Nov. 21

2:08 p.m. An accident occurred after a woman reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign, T-boning another vehicle. She was issued a summons for failing to stop and driving with expired registration. The man who was T-boned was driving with a revoked license and without proof of insurance. He was issued a summons for both.

3:12 p.m. A man was issued a summons for shoplifting after a theft retention specialist at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., reported him. The man also had an outstanding warrant. He was taken into custody.

9:53 p.m. A woman reported a scam from the 1000 block of South Chestnut after she attempted to buy a puppy from someone online. The woman stated that she sent a total $524.85 and was never given directions to pick up the dog. The apparent suspect seemed to live in Durango. There were no other leads.

Monday, Nov. 22

10:26 a.m. A woman reported that man threw something at her car, breaking her window, in the 200 block of North Broadway. He was previously trespassed from the property where her car was parked. He was issued summons for trespassing and criminal mischief.

11:36 a.m. A man was issued a summons for trespassing in the 200 block of North Broadway after an officer caught him sleeping in a car that was not his on a property that he was previously banned from.

1:19 p.m. A man turned himself in and was taken into custody at the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office jail, 730 E. Driscoll St.

10:13 p.m. A woman reported that she thought her old caregivers purposefully tried to cause a fire in her trailer in the 2000 block of East Main Street. An officer stated that he thought the fire was an accident.

Tuesday, Nov. 23

1:33 p.m. Someone reported that a woman threatened to burn her house down in the 200 block of South Madison Street. The woman had an outstanding warrant and was taken into custody.

2:39 p.m. Someone reported that a man was lying on the sidewalk and urinating himself in the 700 block of North Park Street. The man had an outstanding warrant and was taken into custody.
