Friday, Jan. 1

3:14 p.m. A black 2016 Hyundai Accent was reported stolen in the 1800 block of East Main Street. The vehicle was located, on fire, on Ute Mountain Tribal Land. A man was seen leaving the scene in a white SUV.

Saturday, Jan. 2

10:09 p.m. An assault was reported in the 400 block of East Main Street. Several people were involved in a verbal dispute that turned physical. An investigation concluded that the conflict was mutual, and no charges were filed.

10:58 p.m. Domestic violence was reported in the 300 block of North Chestnut Street. A man allegedly held a woman against her will, whipped her with keys and ran from the scene. The man was not immediately located.

Wednesday, Jan. 27

10:21 a.m. A man was cited on suspicion of knocking down a traffic control sign in the 100 block of South Broadway. He crashed his Jeep into the sign.

12:14 p.m. A woman reported striking a traffic sign with her vehicle in the 200 block of North Park Street. The sign was bent slightly, but no citations were issued.

Thursday, Jan. 28

10:25 a.m. A woman was cited on suspicion of careless driving in the 300 block of West Main Street. She rear-ended another vehicle stopped at a stoplight.

11:02 a.m. A two-vehicle crash occurred in a private parking lot in the 40 block of North Edith Street. One vehicle backed into the other.

2:07 p.m. A restraining order violation was reported in the 800 block of Garrison Drive. A woman was allegedly harassed by a man she is protected against. The man could not be located. A warrant will be sought for protection order violation and domestic violence.

4:07 p.m. A found bicycle was turned over to police in the 1300 block of Mesa Verde Street.

6:53 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence. He allegedly took a woman’s baby out of a car, harassed and pushed the woman and refused to return the baby.

9:18 p.m. A man was arrested on an active warrant at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Saturday, Jan. 30

8:19 a.m. Graffiti was painted on the side of a building in the 200 block of South Sligo Street.

9:28 a.m. A man was cited on suspicion of indecent exposure, open container and possession of alcohol in the park in the 800 block of East Main Street. The man urinated publicly.

3:56 p.m. A tablet was reported stolen from a store in the 1800 block of East Main Street. A man is suspected on the theft.

6:32 p.m. A man was cited on suspicion of DUI, operating an uninsured vehicle and driving without a valid license in the 100 block of West Main Street.

7:12 p.m. A bag of found narcotics was turned over to police in the 2000 block of East Main Street.

Sunday, Jan. 31

3:53 p.m. A vehicle’s clutch failed and it rolled and crashed into another vehicle in the 200 block of East Seventh Street. The owner will be cited.

Monday, Feb. 1

6:09 a.m. A trash truck crashed into a fence and damaged it in the 400 block of West Seventh Street.

8:02 a.m. A hit-and-run crash was reported in the 800 block of East Third Street.

10:03 a.m. A man was arrested on an active warrant in the 300 block of West Main Street.

1:20 p.m. A woman was cited on suspicion of unsafe backing in the 200 block of North Dolores Road. She backed into another vehicle while attempting to exit a parking lot.

2:23 p.m. Harassing communication was reported in the 600 block of North Park Street. A man sent a woman harassing messages that used profanity.

8:14 p.m. A man was arrested on suspicion of protection order violation in the 2600 block of East Main Street. He was found in a motel room with a woman who was protected against him.

Tuesday, Feb. 2

10:55 a.m. A TV and minifridge were reported stolen from a motel in the 2000 block of East Main Street. The motel declined to press charges.

11:06 a.m. A man was cited on suspicion of careless driving in the 400 block of East Main Street. While attempting to make a turn, he hit two trash cans, which caused damage to a metal railing and concrete.

1:22 p.m. Fraud was reported in the 800 block of Wedgewood Street. A couple paid for a dog, but the dog was never shipped, and information provided to them appeared to be fraudulent.

4:35 p.m. A warrant will be sought for a man on suspicion of aggravated motor vehicle theft, vehicular eluding, reckless driving, three counts of reckless endangerment, obstructing a peace officer, resisting arrest, protection order violation,failure to drive in the designated lane, three counts of disregarding a stop sign, speeding, driving with a revoked license and open container in the 400 block of South Sligo Street. He was observed driving recklessly and pulled over for a traffic stop, but drove away before the officer could make contact. He continued to drive recklessly and was speeding. He later crashed into a curb and ran away on foot.
