Wednesday, May 16

10:38 a.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., on a warrant for failure to appear on a felony charge.

12:17 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 600 block of South Washington Street on three warrants for failure to appear on misdemeanor charges after police responded to a report of a disturbance in the area.

1:41 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 1700 block of North Dolores Road on a Department of Corrections felony warrant.

Thursday, May 17

2:28 p.m.: A woman was cited in the 600 block of South Washington Street on suspicion of cruelty to animals and a dog at large violation after an animal control officer responded to a report three puppies running at large near her residence. When the officer checked on the house later, she found two more dogs tied in the woman’s yard with no food or water available. The dogs’ owner reportedly confirmed the puppies were hers as well, and said she had been unable to care for the animals for more than 24 hours because she was taking her husband to the hospital in Durango.

3:58 p.m.: Two men were arrested in City Park, 802 E. Main St., after police contacted them for appearing intoxicated. One man was arrested on suspicion of violating bond conditions, and the other on suspicion of violating bond conditions, an open container violation and possession of alcohol in the park. Both men were medically cleared due to intoxication.

4:22 p.m.: A woman was cited on suspicion of shoplifting at City Market, 508 E. Main St., after employees reported she and a man had placed several items in her purse without paying for them.

5:13 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 2200 block of Tucker Lane on a warrant for failure to appear on a felony charge.

6:50 p.m.: A male inmate was served with a warrant for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St.

Friday, May 18

4:32 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 900 block of East Main Street on suspicion of violating a protection order. He was medically cleared due to intoxication.

Saturday, May 19

2:39 a.m.: A man was cited on suspicion of DUI, DUI per se and improper use of a turn signal in the 900 block of East Main Street after he was pulled over for lighting his turn signal during a turn. The man reportedly said he had been drinking at Angel’s End Zone.

11:26 a.m.: A woman was arrested outside Burger Boy, 400 E. Main St., on three warrants for failure to appear on local misdemeanor charges.

12:07 p.m.: A man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., after employees reported he had stolen food, clothing and pet supplies totaling $159.90.

1:45 p.m.: Two women were arrested on warrants in Centennial Park, 800 E. Montezuma Ave., after police contacted them for appearing intoxicated. One woman had a felony warrant, and the other had a warrant for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge.

6:20 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 900 block of South Broadway on suspicion of DUI, driving without a license, failing to signal as required and driving without registration after the owner of Cozy Inn reported he had driven away after being asked to leave due to being intoxicated and causing a disturbance.

6:56 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 1500 block of Taylor Street on suspicion of violating a protection order and bond conditions after his mother reported he was drunk, in violation of multiple protection orders. He reportedly yelled threats and profanity at police and jail staff throughout the arrest.

11:42 p.m.: A man was arrested at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., on suspicion of trespassing after employees reported he was yelling profanities at people in the store. He was medically cleared due to intoxication.

Monday, May 21

7:36 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 10 block of South Harrison Street on suspicion of being intoxicated in the roadway after he reportedly stood in the middle of the road shouting obscenities, forcing several cars to stop to avoid hitting him. He was medically cleared due to intoxication.

7:50 p.m.: A woman was arrested outside the Super 8 Motel, 505 E. Main St., on a La Plata County warrant for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge after police responded to a report of a disturbance between her and her ex-husband. The woman reportedly said they had been in a verbal argument.

8:40 p.m.: A man was arrested in City Park, 802 E. Main St., on suspicion of violating bond conditions, possession of alcohol in the park and an open container violation. He was medically cleared due to severe intoxication.

Tuesday, May 22

11:55 a.m.: A woman was cited on suspicion of trespassing at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., after a patrol officer reportedly saw her attempting to hide from him behind a vehicle. Three used syringes and a spoon with some kind of residue were found in her possession. A K9 sniff revealed the vehicle where she was hiding, which belonged to someone else, contained another used syringe and two small bags of meth. Police gave the car’s owner a verbal warning for possession of drug paraphernalia and placed the items into evidence to be destroyed.

9:37 p.m.: A man was arrested in the parking lot of Front Row Seat, 610 E. Main St., on suspicion of violating bond conditions after an officer found him lying on the ground. He was medically cleared due to intoxication.
