Wednesday, June 28

11:19 a.m.: A man was arrested at Montezuma County Court, 601 N. Mildred Road, on a warrant for failure to appear on a local felony charge.

11:49 a.m.: A man was arrested in the 1 block of North Madison Street on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.

11:32 a.m.: Police responded to a report of criminal trespass and theft in the 300 block of South Harrison Street. A woman claimed a purse was stolen from her vehicle the previous night. It had contained her driver’s license, $60 in cash, her debit card and her inhaler, valued at $50. She estimated the purse itself was worth $40. The case remains under investigation.

12:28 p.m.: A man was arrested in City Park, 802 E. Main St., on suspicion of violating municipal bond conditions, possession of alcohol in the park and an open container violation.

10:22 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 800 block of East Main Street on two warrants for failure to appear from Cortez and La Plata County.

Thursday, June 29

3:03 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 10 block of North Park Street on suspicion of being intoxicated in the roadway after police responded to a report that he was causing a disturbance with several other people.

5:43 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 200 block of West First Street on a warrant for failure to appear on a La Plata County misdemeanor.

6:17 p.m.: Police responded to a report of criminal mischief in the 500 block of South Ash Street. A woman said the left front tire on her vehicle had been slashed, causing $200 in damage. The case remains under investigation.

6:49 p.m.: A man was served at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., with a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.

11:43 p.m.: A man was issued a summons at Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., on suspicion of shoplifting. Store employees claimed he had tried to steal a few t-shirts, a sweatshirt, a dress shirt, a tie, some underwear and socks, valued at $73.09 total. He reportedly claimed he needed the clothes for a sentencing hearing the following day.

Friday, June 30

8:28 a.m.: A man was served at Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., with a warrant for failure to appear on a local felony charge.

4:50 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 1000 block of East Montezuma Avenue on a warrant for failure to appear on a local felony charge and on suspicion of violating three protection orders and violating bond conditions. Police transported him to Southwest Memorial Hospital for a medical clearance due to severe intoxication, but he reportedly refused to let the doctor look at him.

9:16 p.m.: A woman was arrested in the 1 block of South Washington Street on a warrant for failure to appear on a local felony charge.

Saturday, July 1

2:21 a.m.: A man was issued a summons in the 100 block of West Main Street on suspicion of DUI after being pulled over for weaving and failing to stop at a stop sign. He reportedly said he was coming from Angel’s End Zone, where he had been drinking.

10:13 a.m.: A woman was arrested on suspicion of criminal mischief and domestic violence in the 200 block of South Madison Street. A man claimed his girlfriend had thrown a weed eater at a window in his apartment, breaking it and causing about $200 in damage. She was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital before being taken to jail, due to severe intoxication.

Sunday, July 2

1:29 a.m.: Police responded to a report of bicycle theft in the 400 block of North Mildred Road. A man said a group of juveniles had asked to borrow his and his friend’s bikes at Parque De Vida, and they never returned his. He estimated it was worth about $400. The case remains under investigation.

9:33 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 200 block of East Seventh Street on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.

Tuesday, July 4

12:35 a.m.: Two men were arrested in City Park, 802 E. Main St., on suspicion of violating a protection order and on suspicion of violating bail bond conditions, respectively, after one of them reported he had been attacked by six men. Responding officers said they did not find enough evidence to pursue charges against the alleged attackers, but one of them had a protection order that prohibited the consumption of alcohol, and both he and the alleged victim showed signs of severe intoxication. The alleged victim was medically cleared at Southwest Memorial Hospital before being transported to the jail.

3:01 p.m.: A man was arrested in the 200 block of North Park Street on a warrant for failure to appear on a local misdemeanor charge.

6:30 p.m.: A man was arrested in Centennial Park, 800 E. Montezuma Ave., on two warrants for failure to appear on local misdemeanor charges.
