PEBC seeks teacher of record candidates

PEBC Teacher Residency is accepting applications for their Teacher of Record program. Candidates will work this school year in Southwest Colorado, including Durango, Cortez, Ignacio, Bayfield, Dolores, Pagosa Springs and Silverton.

The PEBC Teacher of Record program is an alternative way for people who have experience working with children to earn their teaching license, while being a salaried and benefited employee of a school.

Teachers of Record are supported by PEBC mentors and coaches as they serve as the sole teacher in the classroom. Teachers are supported with professional development, one-on-one coaching and resources for an additional five years.

Graduates of the PEBC Teacher Residency program are retained in the teaching profession at an average rate of 86% percent after five years. This compares to an average national retention rate of 55% for teachers in their first five years of their career

Because the school year is underway, interested candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Register for a free, virtual information session at www.pebc.org/teacher-preparation.
