NMSU Extension offers pesticide applicators workshop

Workshop provides five CEUs

New Mexico State University Cooperative Extension Service will offer a continuing education workshop for pesticide applicators from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 16, at McGee Park 41 County Road 5556.

The workshop covers a broad range of human safety and environmental issues and is geared toward private and commercial applicators, as well as pesticide dealers.

Participants will learn about new and emerging insects, diseases and pests in field crops, greenhouse crops, forage crops, fruit and vegetable crops, turf areas, shade trees and ornamental plantings.

Attendees will earn five continuing education credits toward their New Mexico Department of Agriculture issued pesticide applicators license.

Early registration is $50 through March 12. Late registration is $60. Preregister online or pay at the door.

Light refreshments and beverages will be provided.
