New Mexico Department of Transportation and contractor Fisher Sand and Gravel will host a public meeting at 3 p.m. Monday, March 20, at Aztec Senior Center, 101 S. Park Ave.

The meeting will provide an overview of the improvement project on U.S. Highway 550, which is anticipated to begin April 3 and will take place between mile markers 161 and 164.9.

The meeting will discuss the project’s construction phasing, time frame and estimated completion date. The rehabilitation project includes improvements to all four lanes, such as full depth reclamation, safety enhancement, signing and striping.

Project impacts include travel restricted to one lane in each direction and slower traffic in and around the work zone. Motorists should expect delays during construction.
