Mancos Days will offer a weekend full of family fun at the end of July

The town of Mancos will host various festivities July 28-30

Mancos Days is coming to town again this year with many fun events and activities for the whole family. The fun starts at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 28 with the kiddie parade, the start of the library book sale, and a baseball and softball tournament, according to the Mancos Days Facebook page.

The boys baseball tournament and girls softball tournament will happen Friday at 10 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 8 a.m.

The Friends of the Library will hold their annual book sale at the Mancos Public Library from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., with thousands of books for sale. There will be something for everyone, and proceeds go toward the library’s programs and services. The sale will continue on Saturday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Also on Friday, vendors will be in Boyle Park from noon-6 p.m. At 1 p.m., the Ladies Auxiliary Queens’ Tea will be held at the Mancos Community Center.

The band Desert Glass will play at the pavilion in Boyle Park at 2 p.m., just one of many live band performances of the weekend. Dave Mensch will play at the pavilion starting at 5 p.m., and Flashback will play at Mancos Brewery, also starting at 5 p.m.

A teen movie night will be held at the Mancos Community Center at 7 p.m. that night. Movie choices will be announced at 6:55 p.m., and a vote will be taken, with the chosen movie starting shortly after.

Saturday, July 29 will have an extensive array of events all day long, starting at 6 a.m. with the pancake breakfast at P & Grocery. All-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, and coffee will be served until 9 a.m. for $7, or $5 for kids under 12.

Wiffle ball, volleyball, cornhole, and horseshoe tournaments will be held in the park starting at 9 a.m. The parade begins at 10 a.m., with lineup starting an hour earlier. Over the Hill Gang Car Show will start at 10:30 a.m. on Park Street.

At noon, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Flag Ceremony will begin in Boyle Park. The Ladies Auxiliary Queens’ quilt winner will be announced at 1 p.m.

A water pong tournament will be held at 3 p.m. at the basketball courts, ending the tournaments for the day.

Flashback will grace the Mancos Days celebrations once again at 2 p.m. at the pavilion in the park. The MoTones will play at the Mancos Brewery at 5 p.m., and Neighborhood Watch will be at the pavilion at 6 p.m. Escape the Badlands will finish out Saturday night’s festivities at Rio Cantina at 8 p.m.

The fun will continue Sunday morning with vendors from 8 a.m.-noon A Sunday church service will be held at the pavilion starting at 9 a.m. Mancos Days will end with the Mancos Cattlemen’s Ranch Rodeo at Robbin’s Arena, starting at 10 a.m.
