The Southwest Center for Independence is sponsoring two Fair Housing Forums for housing consumers and providers.

The Durango forum will take place from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Oct. 4 at the Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave. To register, visit bit.ly/3R3508i.

The Cortez forum will take place from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Oct. 5 at Cortez City Hall, 123 East Roger Smith Ave. To register, visit bit.ly/480QLH7.

The events are free and open to the public. Preregistration is required. Housing providers are invited to attend the Durango event online.

The focus for these education sessions is on how to avoid housing discrimination and what to do if it happens. Refreshments will be provided, as well as English/Spanish translation services. If accommodations are needed or for questions, contact SWCI at 259-1672.
