A benefit concert gala will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Miller Middle School auditorium, 2608 Junction St.

The evening will begin with a concert by Durango High School jazz band, concert band, chamber orchestra and symphonic orchestra ensembles. At the concert’s end, the band and orchestra will join onstage for the first time in over eight years, performing two movements of Dvorak’s “New World Symphony.”

Attendees are asked to RSVP at http://tinyurl.com/uutyd43t to ensure adequate seating and desserts for the free dessert bar. All are invited to bid during the silent auction, bidding will be available online at http://tinyurl.com/yxdw9f9w.

Proceeds from the silent auction will be split between the band and orchestra programs and will be used to defray competition travel expenses this semester.
