‘Great loss’ to cut Nail It Down program

Kathi Marler and Donna Hunt at the Montezuma County Health Department created a program called Nail It Down. It assists seniors in caring for their feet and toenails. Many seniors have difficulty bending over, they may not see well, and arthritis in their hands makes it very hard to squeeze clippers. For these people, the quality care they receive from Donna is invaluable.

Not only is it unfortunate for our community, it is also a great loss to the citizens who benefit from it that the county has decided to discontinue the Nail It Down program. It leaves Kathi and Donna’s many clients with no affordable way to obtain this critical care. I hope the county will reconsider this decision.

Thank you, Donna and Kathi, for all the help you’ve given to so many through the Nail It Down program.
