A head-on crash between two vehicles Tuesday morning resulted in two reported fatalities on Colorado Highway 184 west of Dolores, Montezuma County Sheriff Steve Nowlin said.
The crash, which took place minutes after a REDDI (Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately) call, happened near mile marker 3.
Nowlin said the area around the crash will be “closed for hours” in both directions near mile marker 3, and requested that drivers avoid the area.
Detours have been made east and west of the crash scene utilizing county roads. Colorado State Patrol is investigating the crash and said it is unclear how long it will be before the highway is open again.
