FARMINGTON – The Farmington Police Department is requesting help from the public to get information about multiple properties damaged by vandals.

Nicole Brown, spokeswoman for the department, said damage has been done to multiple parked vehicles and buildings, and damage appeared to be caused by “subjects shooting a BB gun or an Airsoft pellet gun from a vehicle.”

Detectives are working in areas where damage has been reported to try to find evidence and leads, she said. The area hit hardest is primarily neighborhoods near Sunset Avenue, but damage to property has also occurred in other areas.

This truck was one of the vehicles damaged by vandals.

“Farmington detectives ask residents who have a home or business security cameras to check their footage for possible suspect information,” Brown said in a news release.

If people have property damage, they can file a report by calling dispatch at (505) 599-1053 or through the department’s online reporting system. All reports, including attached photos and videos are reviewed by the detective division and then assigned to a detective.

Tips can also be provided by calling the FPD’s tip line at (505) 599-1068.
