The Durango Devo Film Fest will take place Aug. 27 at the Durango Powerhouse Science Museum, 1333 Camino Del Rio. The event is the annual fundraiser for local mountain bike teams from Animas High School and Durango High School.

There will be two showings on Friday. The matinee will feature local films only, which were submitted by Devo’s own riders and alumni, local artists and filmmakers, as well as renowned production houses.

The main showing of the film fest will include the local films and also feature a premier of Matchstick Productions’ “A Biker's Ballad.” Matchstick has long been known for its ski movies, but “A Biker's Ballad” is its first foray into mountain biking films.

Devo will also be raffling off over $1,000 in prizes from local sponsors, including Osprey Packs and Purgatory Resort.

Doors open for the matinee at 4 p.m., and for the main showing at 5:30 p.m.

Food, drinks and ice cream will be available for purchase from Grassburger, Ska Brewing and Cream Bean Berry.

Volunteers are needed for the event. People can sign up to volunteer, get free admission and a drink voucher, at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0448a5ae2ca6fd0-durango2

Fewer than 40 tickets are left for the main showing. Tickets and more information are available at https://durangodevo.com/film-fest/.
