Thank you to the Dolores Rotary for their very generous donation to the Montezuma / Dolores County Imagination Library Fund. In addition to monies from their local chapter, they were also able to secure a matching grant from Rotary International. Their donation gets us closer to fully funding an endowment to ensure that any eligible child in our two counties will have access to the program at no cost to their families.

Imagination Library is a book gifting program founded by Dolly Parton to honor her father who was illiterate. Each month, the child receives an age-appropriate book addressed to the child, including tips for parents to help them successfully engage their child in reading — critical for developing early childhood literacy. As of March 17, 549 county youngsters from birth to five are currently enrolled in the program; 34 have graduated out of the program since the first of the year.
