Dolores student-athlete Jordan Elder has verbally committed to play volleyball at Northern Arizona University after she graduates from Dolores High School next year.

The Journal

Four Corners Volleyball Club is announcing the verbal commitment of junior middle hitter, Jordan Elder, to the NCAA Division I, 2018 Big Sky Conference Champions, Northern Arizona University Lumberjacks, led by Ken Murphy.

Elder will be a member of Dolores High School’s 2020 graduating class.

The 6-foot-2-inch Elder has built extensive experience in competitive circles, through Four Corners Volleyball Club in the off-season. Participating in USAVolleyball Junior National Qualifier Events and inter-regional tournaments has pushed her to develop into a NCAA Division I volleyball prospect.

The incoming senior is a force for Dolores High School and head volleyball coach Gina Hollen. Elder earned a 2018 First Team All-Conference Selection for the second consecutive season in the 2A-1A San Juan Basin League.

Elder excels in the classroom and is active with Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the National Honors Society, and DHS Student Government. This time of year, you can catch her at the long jump and high jump pits, or sprinting for the Dolores Bears track and field team.

She is the daughter of Brooke and Scot Elder.
