Memorial services for longtime Mancos resident Dennis Lee Breshears were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, at Durango Faith Fellowship Church. Pastor Glen King officiated.

Dennis was born May 28, 1943, the son of J.B. and Violet (Sanders) Breshears. He passed away at his Mancos home on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at the age of 70.

On Dec. 3, 1983, in Fullerton, Calif., Dennis married Karan Weiser, sharing almost 30 years of marriage together.

Dennis worked for Northrop/Grumman Aircraft Company in Hawthorne, Calif. for 42 years. He also worked for Wal-Mart in Cortez for seven years.

Dennis was an active member of the Durango Faith Fellowship Church. He loved fishing, woodworking, farm work and working in his garden. Dennis was also a lover of animals.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Karan Breshears, of Mancos; his children, Dennis L. Breshears Jr. of New York, Kevin Breshears of Moab, Utah, and Tricia (Breshears) Richards of Alaska; his stepdaughter, Doneva Hoague of Grand Junction; his grandchildren, Dennis J. McNurlin of California and Acacia Flegel of Idaho; his stepgrandson, Johnny Powell Koziol of Durango; and his brother and sister, Kieth Breshears and Ella Candwell both of Palo Cedro, Calif.

His parents, J.B. and Violet Breshears, preceded Dennis in death.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Durango Faith Fellowship Church, 691 Road 233 #B6, Durango, CO 81301.
