Cortez Retail Enhancement Association and city of Cortez teamed up to commemorate 81321 Day, the day when the date and ZIP code of a U.S. Post Office location match, Friday.

Events and activities are planned to encourage locals and visitors enjoy Cortez and support local businesses and organizations.

The Cortez Post Office will officially commemorate 81321 Day through the USPS Date Meets Zip campaign. A Pictorial Postmark has been created to honor the special day and will be available in the post office lobby Friday only.

Additionally, Cortez retailers and restaurants across town are offering 81321 Day specials and discounts. Other activities include business grand openings, live music around town and fundraising opportunities. There are also chances to win free 81321 merchandise and CREA Cortez Cash Cards from local businesses, organizations and radio stations.
