Colorado State University will host its Native Education Forum June 1-5, offering a five-day, on-campus program for high school students interested in Native American and Indigenous issues, according to information provided by the university.

The Native Education Forum is a precollege program designed for rising high school juniors, seniors and incoming CSU freshmen. Student participants will learn more about life at a university while exploring topics important to tribal communities.

The application deadline is Friday, April 17.

Students will earn one academic credit and take part in small-group research projects focused on issues in Indigenous communities. They will be guided through the process of applying to college and financial aid while connecting with CSU faculty and current undergraduate students.

Students will present their research findings at the conclusion of the program. Information about scholarship opportunities offered through national and regional tribal organizations will also be provided.

Travel stipends may be available for eligible students who need assistance, and participants may be considered for the Community of Excellence Partnership Award, an annual award CSU said is renewable for up to five years.
