The city of Cortez announced the finalists for the finance director position on Tuesday, and a meet-and-greet will be held with the finalists on Wednesday, May 14.

The meet and greet will be held at City Hall, 123 Roger Smith Ave.

The finalists, selected from a pool of 21 applicants in a competitive national search, are Randy Bailey, controller for the city of Fort Collins; Anthony (Tony) Bolling, project manager for the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration; and Dwayne (Mitch) Franklin, lead budget analyst for the U.S. Department of Justice.

The finance director oversees the city’s $865,000 budget and manages a team of six full-time employees, working to ensure accurate financial reporting for informed decision-making and transparency for residents.

The event offers community members, city staff and local leaders a chance to meet the candidates, ask questions and provide input. The city encourages residents to attend and participate in the selection process.
