The San Juan Basin Farm Bureau will hold a candidate forum featuring candidates running for Colorado House Districts 58 and 59 representing Southwest Colorado.

The forum takes place Oct. 25 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Montezuma County Annex, 107 N. Chestnut St. in Cortez.

The candidates for House District 59 are incumbent Democrat Barbara McLachlan, and Republican challenger Shelli Shaw.

The candidates for House District 58 are incumbent Republican Marc Catlin and Democrat challenger Kevin Kuns.

San Juan Basin Farm Bureau Vice President Danny Wilkin will be the moderator.

He said candidates will give three-minute opening statements, then take questions directly from audience members.

The 58th District represents the areas of Montrose, Telluride, Cortez, Dolores, Towaoc, Dove Creek and Mancos.

The 59th District represents the areas of Durango, Bayfield, Pagosa Springs, Lake City, Ouray and Ridgway.
