Aztec Ruins National Monument to host musical performance

Marlon Magdalena will present a musical performance and demonstration at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 20, in the restored Great Kiva at Aztec Ruins National Monument.

Magdalena’s presentation on Indigenous musical instruments of the American Southwest will include information about the instruments and playing of various Indigenous instruments.

Marlon is a Native American artist, educator and performer from the Pueblo of Jemez in New Mexico. He performs with Native American Style flutes of his own making, and some made by other makers. He is also the instructional coordinator at the Jemez Historic Site, where he educates the public about Jemez culture.

This event is made possible by assistance from the Chaco Culture Conservancy. The CCC is a nonprofit organization supporting education, interpretation and funding of many programs and events for Aztec Ruins National Monument and Chaco Culture National Historical Park.
