Aztec Highland Games and Celtic Festival brings a taste of the Scottish Highlands to the Southwest

Event to feature dance, athletic events, music and vendors

The 11th annual Aztec Highland Games and Celtic Festival will take place Oct. 2 and 3 at Riverside Park, 500 S. Lightplant Road, Aztec.

The family-friendly cultural event brings a taste of the Scottish Highlands to the Southwest, featuring the heavy Celtic athletic competitions, Highland dance competitions, bag pipe band exhibitions, live Celtic music, vendors and Clan tents.

Big Paddy will headline the music festival portion. Watch the heavy Celtic athletic competitions featuring the caber toss, the Braemar Stone throw and other feats of strength and agility.

Tickets are $15 for the day, $20 for the weekend or $17 for the day at the gate and $22 for the weekend.

Children 12 and younger are free, student/military/senior discounts are available and leashed dogs are welcome.
