NAVEX, a leader in integrated risk and compliance management software, announced that Southwest Colorado’s Axis Health System is a finalist for the 2023 NAVEX Customer Excellence Award.

The award recognizes accomplishments and dedication to ethics, compliance and risk management. Winners will be announced Sept. 12 at the 2023 NAVEX Next Virtual Conference.

According to a news release, a panel of industry experts curated the organizations that proved to uphold superb governance, risk and compliance standards.

NAVEX, a leading GRC software company helps streamline policies, incidents, risk ethics and compliance management.

Compliance management reduces risk by compliance with laws, rules and regulations. An example of risk would be to ensure privacy and security, and avoid information breaches.

Finalists constitute various company sizes and industries.

“We’re a health care provider and also a community mental health center and most organizations do one or the other,” Haley Leonard, Axis Health System’s Public Relations Director said. “We’re really paying attention to multiple sets of guidance.”

Axis’ Ethics and Compliance Director, Amber Manwaring, leads its dedication to ethics, compliance and overall risk management which ushered the way to the award.

Although most health care organizations have to comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, Manwaring also complies with multiple privacy laws that cover confidentiality in substance abuse and family rights.

NAVEX also nominated Coca-Cola, HP, PepsiCo, Inc. and the state of Michigan.
