Annual Rico Winter Carnival is Jan. 26-27

Event features hockey games, chili dinner and free ski lessons

The Rico Winter Carnival will feature hockey games on the ice rink at Town Park.

Cure the winter blues at the second annual Winter Carnival in Rico Jan. 26 and 27.

The events at Town Park feature winter sports, a chili dinner and bonfire, and there will be live bluegrass music at the Enterprise Bar and Grill.

The schedule

Jan. 26: Pickup hockey games at the town park ice rink start up about 10:30 a.m.; a fat-tire snow bike tour is at 2:30 p.m., and the bonfire and chili dinner kicks off at 4:30 p.m. The bluegrass music starts up at 7 p.m. at the Enterprise.Jan. 27: The hockey games continue at 10 a.m. and there will be free cross-country ski lessons at 12 p.m. for kids and adults.“It is a fun way to cure cabin fever,” Distefano said of the new carnival. “People love it.”
