Friday, April 21

8:44 a.m. A manager of Conoco, 302 W. Main St., noticed the propane cage had been cut open and four 20-pound propane canisters were missing. The estimate value of the canisters is $700.04.

6:01 p.m. A woman drove a car on the sidewalk between the Cortez Recreation Center and the baseball fields, 425 Roger Smith Ave. The woman almost hit a child who was pull out of the way by their father. The woman was stopped in the Taco Bell parking lot, 1300 E. Main St., where she was arrested on a warrant and was issued summons on suspicion of failure to present insurance, driving without a license, underage drinking and reckless driving. A man who was in the car during the arrested was arrested on two warrants and felony hold was issued on suspicion of attempt to distribute a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, introducing contraband, possessing an open container in a vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of a protection order.

Saturday, April 22

7:36 a.m. A man who took a shopping cart from Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., was issued summons on suspicion of trespassing.

10:02 a.m. A man who took items out of City Market, 508 E. Main St., was issued summons on suspicion of theft. The total value of the items is $71.69.

11:02 a.m. A woman who drove into the side of a house in the 100 block of South Washington Street was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. The woman was driving south when she hit the stop sign on the southeast corner of East First Street and South Washington Street. The woman then hit a house’s window air conditioning unit and damaged the window sill. The homeowner had to jump away from the window to avoid injury when the woman crashed. The woman stated she had smoked methamphetamine around 8 a.m. and was a three or four on a scale of 10 in regards to her level of high.

Sunday, April 23

8:15 a.m. A woman at the Colorado Welcome Center at Cortez, 928 E. Main St., found seven $20 bills in front of the center and turned them over to an officer.

2:43 p.m. A man at Veteran’s Park, 830 E. Main St., was arrested on three warrants and was issued a summons on suspicion of violating a protection order that restricts him from possessing or consuming alcohol.

7 p.m. A man in the Walmart parking lot, 1835 E. Main St., was arrested on suspicion of violating protection order that restricts him from being within 100 yards of Walmart. During the arrest an anabolic steroid on was found on the man and was issued summons on suspicion of possession of a Schedule 3 drug and trespassing.

10:38 p.m. A man wanted by the U.S. Marshals was arrested at the Oak Meadows Trailer Park, 405 W. Seventh St., on a warrant.

Monday, April 24

4:52 p.m. A woman in the Walmart parking lot, 1835 E. Main St., was arrested on three warrants.

11:52 p.m. A man near the Cortez Municipal Swimming Pool, 803 E. Montezuma Ave., was arrested on a warrant.

Tuesday, April 25

1:50 p.m. A woman noticed her car had been from her residence in the 300 block of South Broadway. The woman had left her car unlocked with the keys inside the night before.

2:15 p.m. A woman who had left her trailer box trailer on a friends property in the 600 block of South Oak Street was told by her friend it had gone missing three weeks prior. The last the trailer was seen was on April 4 by an off-duty officer. The officer was able to recall the vehicle’s information but the vehicle had been recently sold and the new owner had not yet registered it. The previous owner was not able to be contacted to provide that information at the time of the report.

3:08 p.m. A woman was issued summons on suspicion of unsafe backing for an incident that had occurred around 7 p.m. on April 24 in the Cork ’N’ Bottle parking lot, 443 E. Main St.

4:12 p.m. A man driving an SUV hit a truck in the intersection of West First Street and South Chestnut Street. The driver of the SUV reportedly left the scene after telling the driver of the truck that he had to go pick up his kids from school. No suspect was able to be identified at the time of the report.

Wednesday, April 26

12:14 p.m. A man who stated we was security for the Tomahawk Motel, 728 S. Broadway, shoved a woman out a room. The man was issued summons on suspicion of harassment.

1:22 p.m. A woman in the 900 block of Livesay Drive was arrested on suspicion of violating a criminal protection order that restricts her from possessing or consuming alcohol.

10:52 p.m. A man who was seen driving fast in the 500 block of North Linden Street ran a stop sign at the intersection of West Montezuma Avenue and North Chestnut street and was pulled over in the 100 block of North Chestnut Street. The man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, prohibited use of weapons, careless driving and failing to stop at a stop sign.
