Saturday, May 25

An officer noticed a man stumbling in a lane of traffic. The man told the officer that he was going home. The man’s speech was slurred and he could not keep his balance. The officer arrested the man and took him to the hospital to get medically cleared since he was highly intoxicated. After being cleared by the hospital, the officer transported the man to the jail where he served him with a summons for intoxicated pedestrian in roadway.

Saturday, May 25

A local restaurant was broken into. The owner had received a phone call from his alarm company stating that the alarm had been activated. When he arrived at his restaurant he was surprised the police were not there, so he called back the alarm company and requested that they call the police. Police were then notified about 15 minutes after the owner was. It appeared that a laptop and some tools were missing but were later found in a different area of the restaurant. Some things were knocked over and moved around but nothing was taken.

Tuesday, May 28

Police responded to Aaron’s Store in reference to stolen license plates. Employees at Aaron’s said they noticed the plate missing that morning while doing a safety inspection of a delivery vehicle. The rear license plate had been pried off with the bolts still in the bumper. The employees were advised to get new registration.

Wednesday, May 29

Police noticed a juvenile walking on Third Street. Given the time of day, the officer made contact with the juvenile. When the officer asked where the juvenile was going, the juvenile told police that they didn’t need that information. While police were talking with the juvenile they could smell an unknown alcoholic beverage. The officer administered a PBT with a reading of .041. The officer asked who the juvenile’s parents were. The officer contacted the juvenile’s mother and she agreed to meet them at the police department. The juvenile was charged with underage consumption.

Sunday, May 19

The Dolores town manager advised the sheriff’s office of several complaints he was receiving about the noise coming from a local business in Dolores. The town manager stated that he had received several calls over the past two weeks about the karaoke being extremely loud and carrying on late into the night, audible even to people living two blocks away. The owner of the local business had received warnings about the noise and has done nothing to correct the issue. Due to the verbal warnings and non-compliance, the Town of Dolores wanted to proceed with issuing the owner with a summons.

Saturday, May 25

A man called dispatch wanting to report the theft of his four-wheeler. The man said that he and his wife were headed back home to New Mexico from Blanding, Utah. The man stated that he was hauling a camp trailer and then a smaller trailer on the back of the camp trailer. The smaller trailer had his four-wheeler on it. The man said he had noticed the trailer with the four-wheeler on it was gone. The man then turned around in attempt to look for his trailer and his four-wheeler. The man located the trailer and could tell where the four-wheeler had come off the trailer. The man could not locate the four-wheeler and assumed that somebody had stolen the four-wheeler and left the trailer. The man recovered the trailer. The stolen four-wheeler’s information was entered for evidence.

Monday, May 27

Police reported to a man’s residence after he called dispatch and notified them that he was detaining someone at his property. The owner of the property said he noticed a man at the end of his driveway with a gas can walking away from a truck. The owner of the property asked the man what he was doing and the man said he was trying to get gas. The owner of the property suspected that the man had siphoned gas from his truck. He then detained the man with a shotgun until police arrived. The man admitted to siphoning gas and wanted to apologize to the owner of the truck. After apologizing, he was charged with theft.

Tuesday, May 28

A female gray pit bull was unrestrained and was keeping a female from exiting her vehicle. An officer attempted to catch the dog when it ran at him barking and growling. The officer had to use a taser on the animal; the dog then ran behind its residence where it stayed until the owner arrived. The owner of the dog was advised of what had taken place prior and was issued with a summons for dog not under control.
