Wednesday, June 16

9:02 a.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on Road 39, Mancos, for a report of property damage. The woman reporting said she saw an older blue vehicle strike her mailbox the previous Saturday, scattering her mail. No vehicle with matching damage was located.

1:37 p.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on Road 26, Dolores, for a report of trespassing. The woman reporting said her neighbor was driving a tractor on her property and blocking the shared driveway with brush. The deputy observed tire tracks crossing the property line per county GIS maps. The man was arrested on suspicion of third-degree criminal trespass, resisting arrest and obstructing a peace officer.

Thursday, June 18

9:14 p.m.: A deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle with a temporary plate in the 7000 block of U.S. Highway 160, Cortez, after observing it without a working driver’s side headlight. The woman driver had a canceled license and no insurance or registration. She was issued a citation for driving under restraint and failure to show insurance. The vehicle was towed.

Friday, June 19

4:48 p.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on Road 28, Dolores, for a report of a brush fire. The fire started at an irrigation pump and spread across a fence line and some trees onto the neighboring property. No one was home. It did not appear intentional.

8:15 p.m.: A deputy responded to 40000 U.S. Hwy. 160, Mancos, as a cover unit for a Mancos Marshals traffic stop involving a man wanted on a felony warrant out of Texas. The deputy transported the man to the Montezuma County Detention Center.

Saturday, June 20

1:21 p.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on CO Highway 184, Lewis, for a report of a stolen swamp cooler. The elderly woman reporting said the cooler was missing from her unlocked garage, but many other valuable items remained untouched. Her sons were contacted but had no knowledge of its whereabouts. No suspects or clear evidence of theft were identified.

Sunday, June 21

9:38 p.m.: A deputy responded to the 40000 block of Highway 160, Mancos, as a cover unit for a Mancos Marshals potential DUI investigation. The deputy stood by as the male driver was already in custody.

Monday, June 22

11:57 p.m.: A deputy made phone contact regarding a protection order violation at a residence on Road G, Cortez. The woman reporting said her ex-boyfriend sent a text and left a voicemail using a TextNow app number. A follow-up was set to take place at a later time.

Tuesday, June 23

2:34 p.m.: A deputy responded to Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., Cortez, for a remand to custody. The man was booked on two warrants.

5:31 p.m.: A deputy responded to the Montezuma County Detention Center, 730 E. Driscoll St., Cortez, for a man turning himself in on a warrant out of Dolores County. He was taken into custody.

Wednesday, June 24

7:16 a.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on Road 35.9, Mancos, for a report of a black bear damaging a mobile home. The bear tore vinyl siding, pulled insulation and left claw marks and a paw print. The male resident fired a shot in the air to scare it off. Colorado Parks and Wildlife was notified.

2:18 p.m.: A deputy responded to Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., Cortez, for a remand. The man allegedly admitted to concealing drugs on his person and flushed them before booking. He also had pills placed in safekeeping.

3:28 p.m.: A deputy responded via phone to a protection order violation report involving a residence on Road T.5, Dolores. Investigation determined the contact was not a clear violation. The case was closed as unfounded.

11:32 p.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on North 17th Street, Dolores, for a domestic violence assault. The woman allegedly threw a candle at the man during an argument, cutting his finger. She was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault and domestic violence.

Thursday, June 25

9:04 a.m.: A deputy responded to Montezuma County Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., Cortez, for a remand on contempt of court. The woman was sentenced to two days.

10:29 a.m.: A deputy responded to 400 Railroad Ave., Dolores, for a vehicle that drove into the Dolores Food Market breezeway, causing damage to displays and the building. The elderly woman driver was issued a citation for careless driving.

Friday, June 26

4 p.m.: A deputy responded to Maverick Gas Station, 10223 U.S. Hwy. 491, Cortez, for a traffic accident with a pedestrian. The woman pedestrian was struck by a backing truck in the parking lot and sustained abrasions. No charges were requested, just the coverage of medical costs. MC2

Saturday, June 27

1:24 a.m.: A deputy responded to the 27551 block of Highway 145, Dolores, for a traffic accident. The male driver said he hit a water-filled hole, causing a tie rod failure and loss of control. A Colorado State Trooper handled the investigation.

9:09 a.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on Road S, Dolores, for a report of a stolen truck. The owner had left keys in the vehicle. His ex and another man were contacted but denied involvement. The truck was entered as stolen.

Sunday, June 28

6:32 a.m.: A deputy assisted on a traffic stop in the 15000 block of U.S. Highway 491, Cortez. The male driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI and reckless driving. Blood was drawn at the hospital.

Wednesday, July 1

12:48 a.m.: A deputy responded to the 10 block of East Main Street, Cortez, to assist Cortez police in searching for a suspect in an assault.
