Mountain Range Fitness announced Monday that it would be opening its doors, free of charge, to wildland firefighters and fire personnel who are staying in the area fighting the Ferris Fire and other nearby fires.
Crews have been battling the Ferris Fire, which had grown to 10,000 acres Sunday, and extreme weather conditions since Saturday.
As a show of gratitude, firefighters and personnel will be granted full access to the gym’s facilities.
“Whether you’re out there battling the flames or supporting the efforts behind the scenes – thank you. Your courage and sacrifice do not go unnoticed,” the gym said in a Facebook post.
The gym, located at 2310 E. Empire St. and owned by Jarrod and Colette Wyatt, is open 24 hours a day. Fire personnel who wish to utilize the gym outside of normal working hours can call or text (970) 564-3449.
