Mancos School District wrapping up year with PBL Expo, performances and graduation

The Mancos School District is gearing up for commencement by hosting a variety of events leading up to the ceremony.
The class of 2026’s commencement ceremony will be held this weekend

The Mancos School District is celebrating the end of the 2025-2026 school year with events that celebrate student success, creativity and volunteers who support students.

The Project Based Learning Expo was held on Monday and Tuesday, with an open house that allowed the community to see students put their PBL knowledge to work through various projects. Students gave presentations to invited guests prior to the open house.

A poetry reading by the high school’s creative writing students is scheduled for Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Hand in Hand Shop, 128 Grand Ave., in Mancos. Later that night at the district’s Performing Arts Center, the End-of-Year Concert featuring fifth grade, middle school and high school bands will take place at 6:30 p.m.

Though free, a donation of $5 is suggested, with the proceeds going to support the district’s music programs.

The commencement ceremony for the district’s Class of 2026 is scheduled for Sunday at the Performing Arts Center. Doors will open at 2:30 p.m., and graduation will begin at 3:30 p.m.

Finally, the district will recognize and thank parents, guardians and community members who volunteered throughout the year at a Volunteer Appreciation Coffee on Tuesday, May 19, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. outside the historical high school building.

For more information, contact Andrew Saletta for the concert at asaletta@mancosre6.edu, James Hughes for graduation at jhughes@mancosre6.edu or Janet Fogel for volunteer appreciation at jfogel@mancosre6.edu.
