The project started Monday

Crews with the Colorado Department of Transportation started a culvert replacement project between Cortez and Mancos at mile point 48 on Monday. The work follows a recently completed culvert repair between Mancos and Durango.

Drivers should expect stops and short delays between Cortez and Mancos while crews remove the existing metal culvert pipe and replace it with a new 60‑inch concrete culvert. CDOT said crews will also build a concrete headwall and tailwall at the site.

A portable traffic signal is in place to control alternating one‑way traffic 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Additional delays are expected in April at the previous location east of Mancos (mile point 64) when asphalt repairs take place.
