Alert issued for missing 13-year-old Indigenous girl in Cortez

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation has activated a Missing Indigenous Person Alert for a 13-year-old girl last seen on Wednesday, walking eastbound by herself in the 400 block of West Second Street, about 4:08 p.m.

Dior Orange, a member of the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe, is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Orange was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt with the number 71 on the back, black leggings and black-and-white Nike shoes.

Anyone who sees Orange or has information about her whereabouts is urged to call 911 immediately or contact the Cortez Police Department at (970) 565-8441.
