8:18 p.m. An officer responded to Tawi Kaan apartments, 560 E. Empire St., for a verbal disturbance. A man restrained by two protection orders from contact with the resident was arrested on suspicion of violation of a protection order.
12:54 a.m. An officer responded to the Cortez City Pool area, 803 E. Montezuma Ave., after observing a man with a warrant fleeing through the park. The man resisted arrest, possessed a loaded syringe and was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest, obstructing a peace officer and possession of a controlled substance.
6:07 a.m. An officer responded to Twenty Four Hour Power House gym, 2232 E. Main St., for a reported theft of a woman’s backpack while she slept. The woman had a warrant and was arrested on the warrant.
11:08 a.m. An officer responded to West Slope Liquors, 2212 E. Main St., for trespassing. A man previously banned had returned and allegedly harassed employees. He was issued a summons for third-degree criminal trespass.
7:12 p.m. An officer responded to a residence on Lakeside Drive for a protection order violation. A man previously banned from the residence returned while allegedly intoxicated. He was arrested on suspicion of protection order violation and second-degree criminal trespass.
7:11 a.m. An officer responded to Fuel Auto, 641 S. Broadway, for a vehicle break-in. A man was found inside a dealership car with starter fluid, with reported damage to the vehicle. He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree criminal trespass, criminal mischief and abuse of toxic vapors.
1:39 p.m. An officer responded to Walmart, 1835 E. Main St., for reported shoplifting. A woman took approximately $100 worth of merchandise and was issued a summons for shoplifting.
1:47 p.m. An officer responded to Children’s Kiva Preschool area, 1204 E. Empire St., for a man acting aggressively with a baseball bat. The man had two warrants and was arrested on the warrants.
2:15 p.m. An officer responded to The Pie Maker, 17 N. Harrison St., for trespassing and alleged public urination. A man previously permanently banned was issued a municipal summons for trespassing.
1:24 p.m. An officer responded to Pinion Project Day Center, 210 E. Main St., for a disturbance. A man yelling at patrons was issued a trespass notice and summons for disturbing the peace.
3:03 p.m. An officer responded to West Slope Liquors, 2212 E. Main St., for trespassing. A man previously banned entered the store, but he was later located and issued a summons for third-degree criminal trespass.
4:01 p.m. An officer responded to Cortez Fire Station 1, 31 N. Washington St., after a woman reported being assaulted behind Ocean Pearl. The female suspect was arrested on suspicion of assault on a peace officer (two counts), disorderly conduct, harassment and resisting arrest after kicking an officer and spitting.
5:07 p.m. An officer responded to City Market, 508 E. Main St., for trespassing. A man previously banned returned and was issued a municipal summons for trespassing.
6:36 p.m. An officer responded to Ziggi’s Coffee, 1204 E. Main St., after a man reportedly cursed at owners. The man, previously trespassed from Ziggi’s and Plaza Laundry, was issued summonses for two counts of third-degree criminal trespass.
6:47 p.m. An officer responded to Durango Organics and Wellness, 1013 E. Main St., after observing a vehicle without lights. The driver was issued summonses for DUI, drove motor vehicle while BAC was 0.08 or higher, open container, owner operated uninsured motor vehicle, light lamps required, possession of open alcohol in a motor vehicle.
8 p.m. An officer responded to McDonald’s, 1322 E. Main St., for an unwanted person. The man was banned from McDonald’s. After becoming confrontational with officers, he was arrested on suspicion of interference with an officer.
11:42 a.m. An officer responded to Cortez Police Department, 608 N. Park St., after a man causing a disturbance at the library continued to cause disturbances. The man resisted arrest and was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest, disturbing the peace and trespass.
1:47 p.m. An officer responded to Wiggi Wash, 1115 E. Main St., for a man allegedly huffing gasoline. The man was issued a summons for prohibited use of toxic fumes.
3:31 p.m. An officer observed a man with warrants in a vehicle at East 13th Street. The man was arrested on the warrants.
4:44 p.m. An officer responded to Safeway, 1580 E. Main St., for a domestic disturbance. A woman allegedly drove over her partner’s belongings and struck him with the vehicle. She was arrested on suspicion of reckless endangerment and domestic violence.
