1:12 p.m.: At Colorado Highway 145 and Road N in Dolores, a man was cited for careless driving after passing vehicles at high speed and nearly causing a head-on collision. A witness reported the incident, and the driver admitted to passing out of anger.
4:25 p.m.: At 730 E. Driscoll St. in Cortez, a man was transported to the Montezuma County Detention Center on two active Montezuma County warrants. Deputies confirmed the warrants and booked him into custody.
12:04 p.m.: At 38031 Colorado Highway 184 in Mancos, a man reported that his silver 2018 GMC Sierra was stolen overnight. He suspected his son, who had previously taken the vehicle without permission. The vehicle was entered into NCIC/CCIC as stolen.
8:41 a.m.: At 23757 Road N in Montezuma County, a woman reported the overnight theft of six horse panels from her property. A neighbor saw a baby blue 1970s model truck with a trailer near the panels around 11 p.m. and later saw it leaving eastbound with the panels. Footprints were found at the scene, and photos were taken for documentation.
3:21 p.m.: At 730 E. Driscoll St. in Cortez, a man was transported to the Montezuma County Detention Center by the sheriff’s transport division. Deputies confirmed he had two active warrants out of Montezuma County, and he was booked accordingly.
10:18 p.m.: At 16580 Road 38, deputies assisted Dolores County with a domestic violence call involving firearms. A woman was found crying and bruised, stating she had been kicked by a man during an argument. Deputies turned the scene over to Dolores County.
9:50 p.m.: At 30100 U.S. Highway 160, a woman was stopped for driving a van without license plates or insurance. She was issued a summons and advised not to drive the vehicle.
3:00 a.m.: At 12140 Road 42, a woman rolled her SUV after leaving a bar. She admitted to drinking and was unsure how the crash occurred. A state trooper took over the investigation.
5:58 a.m.: At 730 E. Driscoll St., detention deputies found a sharpened metal object in an inmate’s cell. The inmate was charged with introducing contraband.
7:21 p.m.: At 14460 Road 30.2, a woman reported harassment and protection order violations via text from a man in New Mexico. The texts were threatening and vulgar. A warrant was sought for harassment and violation of a protection order.
4:00 p.m.: At Railroad Avenue and First Street in Dolores, deputies responded to a felony menacing and hit-and-run involving a sedan and two motorcycles. The sedan driver allegedly struck a motorcycle and brandished a handgun before fleeing.
12:26 p.m.: At 17731 Road 25, a woman crashed her vehicle into a ditch and was found in the water with neck pain. She was stabilized and transported to the hospital.
10:48 a.m.: At 730 E. Driscoll St., a man was booked into the detention center on two active warrants.
12:11 a.m.: At 14043 Road 31, a juvenile crashed a Jeep into a fence and admitted to drinking. A state trooper arrested him for DUI.
1:39 p.m.: At 17000 Colorado Highway 145 in Dolores, deputies investigated a reckless driving complaint. Dashcam footage showed a man legally passing a minivan, which then brake-checked him and made obscene gestures. Both drivers were cited for traffic violations.
8:46 p.m.: At 10223 U.S. Highway 491 in Cortez, a man was reported acting intoxicated at a gas station. He failed roadside sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI. His BAC was .200, and he had two prior DUI convictions.
