The Tri-City Record will share the livestream presentation of the memorial service for Bloomfield Police officer Timothy Ontiveros, who was killed in the line of duty on May 26.

The service is scheduled for about 9 a.m. Monday, June 9 at Bobcat Stadium in Bloomfield. Desert Sports Live is streaming the event live on http://www.desertsportslive.com and YouTube@desertsportslive.

According to a post on the Bloomfield Police Department’s Facebook page, some restrictions will be in place people who attend the celebration of life service. They include:

  • The fenced parking area directly behind the stadium will not be available to the general public. All other parking areas will be open, and transportation to the stadium will be available.
  • Inside the stadium bleachers will be open to the public. Seating at ground level will be reserved for friends and family of Ontiveros and for officers and dignitaries.

Ontiveros, 32, joined the Bloomfield Police Department in December 2024 and also was a volunteer firefighter with the Aztec Fire Department.

According to Bloomfield Police Chief Phillip Francisco, the deadly encounter began May 26 after Dennis Armenta, 58, decined to lower his window or provide ID to Ontiveros. When officers tried to arrest the suspect, Armenta opened fire.
