‘Where’s the beef’ on Valle Seco Land Exchange Project?

The Pagosa Ranger District of the San Juan National Forest published a legal notice in the Durango Herald, which begins a second 90-day public notice and comment period for a Colorado Roadless Area (CRA) boundary modification associated with the proposed Valle Seco 2019 Land Exchange Project.

If I may, I'd like to quote Clara Pellar from her 1984 Wendy's commercial, "Where's the beef?!"

The Valle Seco draft Environmental Statement is a comprehensive 126-page document that includes everything but the appraisals. Without the appraisals, the public is getting a bun with no beef. The USFS and BLM have a long history of undervaluing the federal land and overvaluing the private property to make it look like the public is getting a "value for value" exchange.

They should make the appraisals public before the decision so the public has a chance to review them. Comments may be submitted electronically to https://cara.ecosystem-management.org/Public//CommentInput?Project=NP-2434. Comments must be received no later than July 18, 2021.
