The Panthers (9-5, 1-1 3A IML) extended their winning streak to three with a four-set victory over the Bruins. Second-year head coach Danielle Waltman’s Panthers split the first two sets before taking the third and fourth sets with scores of 25-13 and 25-23 to close out the match. A big league doubleheader awaits M-CHS, as the Panthers host Alamosa on Friday at 1 p.m. and welcome the Centauri Falcons to The Jungle for a 1 p.m. match on Saturday.

The Bluejays returned to the win column with a four-set victory over the visiting Mustangs: 25-21, 20-25, 25-15, 25-22. The win moved head coach Delaney Wright’s team into sole possession of third place in the San Juan Basin League (6-7, 3-2 2A/1A SJBL). Up next, Mancos prepares for a rematch with Dove Creek, with the Jays hoping to complete a season sweep of the Bulldogs when the two teams meet at Bluejay Fieldhouse on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The Bears (10-0) remained undefeated through 10 matches, bumping their league mark to 5-0 with wins over the Miners and Mavericks. The two remaining unbeaten teams in the SJBL face off Tuesday, when DHS travels to Ignacio (7-2, 3-0 2A/1A).

The Bulldogs (1-8, 0-2 2A/1A SJBL) dropped their lone match of the week during a visit to La Plata County. Big matches await this week, with a trip to Mancos on Tuesday, followed by a Homecoming match Friday night against Norwood.

M-CHS 25, Aspen 8
The Panthers (6-12, 6-5 3A WSL) cruised past the Skiers to extend their winning streak to four and lift M-CHS inside the top 32 in the CHSAA Seeding and Selection Index. A trip to Alamosa on Thursday afternoon gives head coach Anthony Mestas’ team a chance to avenge a loss to the Mean Moose from earlier this season.

M-CHS poured in four second-half goals in their road victory over the Eagles, snapping a five-match winless streak. Earlier in the week, sophomore Brandon Zamora’s second-minute goal gave the Panthers an early lead against the visiting Broncos, before M-CHS settled for a draw. The Panthers (2-4-2, 0-1 3A IML) return to league action Thursday for a home match against Bayfield at 4 p.m.
Monday: M-CHS takes 13th at Montrose Invite
Wednesday: M-CHS earns 3rd in Alamosa
Junior Gavin Gill led the way for the Panthers in Montrose with an 85, while sophomore Zye Kuenzler posted a 74 in Alamosa to guide the Panthers to their best team finish of the season. M-CHS heads to Riverview Golf Course in Kirtland for a tournament Monday, followed by Wednesday action at Conquistador GC in the IML Panther Invite.
