Mancos State Park features entertainment and environmental education events every weekend throughout the summer. Here is a brief look:

Fridays

5:30 p.m.: Park Naturalist Carol Bylsma leads bird walks. Bring your binoculars. Meet at the Vista Trailhead behind the entrance gate.

7:30 p.m.: Cut loose with a trivia bowl and an "Instant melodrama" in the amphitheater.

Saturdays

1 p.m.: Join the fun in catching and identifying butterflies as Bylsma shares her extensive knowledge. Butterfly nets provided. Meet at the Quarry trailhead.

4 p.m.: Learn about wildlife and wildlife habitats during "Wild Games." Children must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at the amphitheater.

7 p.m.: Discover Colorado's predators - mountain lions, bears and coyotes - via displays of skulls, furs and hides. Meet at the amphitheater.

Sundays

10 a.m.: Join Bylsma on a nature walk around the lake to learn about birds, wild flowers and the Rocky Mountains.
