‘We can all save lives’ is message of suicide prevention training

Cortez Integrated Healthcare, a health center run by Axis Health System, is offering a free training in QPR – question, persuade, refer – to help prevent suicide.

The QPR training is 90 minutes long and led by a behavioral health professional, according to a promotional release from Axis PR manager Karla Sluis. People age 16 or older may attend.

The training is planned for June 14, from 3:30–5 p.m. in the Conference Room of Cortez Integrated Healthcare, 691 E. Empire St. Registration is required, and space is limited. The training hopes to reduce suicidal behaviors and save lives.
